New Deluxe Restaurant Coming to the Disney Dream

posted on April 8th, 2010 by Jonathan Frontado, Disney Cruise Line

Bonjour Disney Parks Bloggers! Today I have great news to share with our fans, especially the foodies. We just announced Remy – a new upscale, adult-only fine dining experience coming to the Disney Dream cruise ship. Think Walt Disney World’s Victoria & Albert’s -– at sea.

Named after the petite French star from the hit film “Ratatouille,” Remy will serve French-inspired, gourmet cuisine paired with impeccable service, a stellar wine list and breathtaking views of the ocean. With a subtle nod to the film, the main dining room is designed in Art Nouveau style. If you look very closely you may even find artful interpretations of the character Remy integrated into the design.

Remy, a New Deluxe Restaurant Coming to the Disney Dream

Creating such an exclusive dining experience called for a truly exquisite menu that could only be delivered by two award-winning chefs: Chef Arnaud Lallement, a Michelin two-starred chef from Reims, France, and Chef Scott Hunnel from award-winning Victoria & Albert’s. They are working together to create a French-inspired menu featuring superior products and seasonal ingredients sourced from around the world.

To get a taste of the cuisine awaiting you at Remy, check out this delicious dish. It’s the Japanese Wagyu Beef with Garlic-Potato Purée.

We couldn’t leave you without showing you a sweet treat to tempt your taste buds. Master Pastry Chef Erich Herbitschek of Victoria & Albert’s is hard at work creating the grand finale to this delightful dining experience. Take a look the White Chocolate and Meyer Lemon Purse with Blackberry-Violet Sherbet.

Bon Appétit!

The beef looks delicious, though shame that it is a starter ;)

The courses look deceptively small, but by the 7th course, you'll be glad they're small! ;)

I love that they're calling it Remy. And I so want to eat there! Who wants to go with me on the Dream and eat there?

I'm just wondering, if Palo is a $15 surcharge, how much will they charge to eat at this place?

I am so excited to try this one out, but I also want to be sure to eat in all the other restaurants on the Dream. With it only offering 3-4 night cruises now, it is gonna be tough to be able to experience all the restaurants for dinner! I am hoping they will still offer Palo brunch on the 4 night, then hopefully get dinner ressies at Remy on our repeat restaurant night.....hmmmm, decisions, decisions!!!!

I think it's creepy to name a restaurant after a RAT. I mean, Chef MICKEY'S is bad enough.....:rotfl:

But...but...he's an exquisite chef rat! And fastidious enough to wash his hands!
Any better? ;)

Looking forward to eating there! I enjoy all of the restaurants on the ships, I'm sure this one will be great as well. :thumbsup2

Nothing like eating Palo Brunch with Yvette, Emil, Paul, Alicia, Stacy & her DH, etc. Palo is even better when you are there with friends!:thumbsup2

Trying to decide if we should book Dream Cruise for June 2011.

My family has never taken a cruise before.
Does anyone know what kinds of restaurants are on the Dream?
We are a family of picky eaters. What types of foods are there?
How does rotational dining work?

Anyone who know a lot about dining Please give suggestions.

There is some AMAZING info over on the Cruise Line Forum. If you haven't checked it out, you really should venture over there.

Since the Dream is gonna be brand spankin' new, there is no real menu out yet, but you can check out the current menus from the Magic/Wonder to at least get an idea. The food seems to be able to suit any tastes. There is usually a meat, seafood, pasta or vegatarian option, plus the kids meals. If nothing appealed to me, which was true once or twice, I was perfectly content ordering some regular appetizers, then something off the kids menu, and a dessert...or two;). Plus, there is room service and the casual buffets where you can always find basic, good eats.

The best info on the Dis can be found here. It explains rotational dining much much better than I could!
