New DCL ship?

word is they are waiting for the dollar to strengthen against the Euro to sign a contract.

This rumor has been floating around for 3 or 4 years now (that I know of, it may have been there longer)... With that kind of persistence, they'll probably build one sometime, the question is when. Disney may also be waiting to see how the West Coast cruises go before setting things in motion.

Although, there is a persistant rumor that DCL will announce *something* on July 16 on the one layover day the Magic has between cruises....

They could build a Disney version of a Windjammer sailing ship :boat: and do pirate themed cruises pirate: - maybe name it the "Jolly Roger" or the "Black Pearl" - maybe name the kids club Never-Never Land.

Or perhaps DCL could break new ground in the cruise industry and have a new "value resort" style ship - the Disney "All-Star"! It would be the first all-interior cabin cruise ship :crowded:, with a food court :duck: replacing the restaurants, Applebies as the upscale answer to Palos (mmm, all-you-can-eat riblets!), and a larger-than-life whimsical tribute to the beach with a gigantic pail and shovel on the smoke stack. Sailing from Newark, NJ, ports of call for this inexpensive, "short on frills long on fun" alternative could include Baltimore, Norfolk, and Charleston (oh wait, been there done that I guess).

With recent developments I guess they won't be naming it the Disney Eisner.
