Anyone else been given a hard time because of so called "new" policies with the DAS pass? I have used it for years and this last trip was denied because i didn't qualify for some reason. we even called guest services over the phone and they said the policies have not changed and they shouldn't be denying me the pass especially when ive used it before. anyone else having this issue?

Not sure why you're calling them new? They've been in place for a few years now. Did you read the FAQ in the forum?

And did you get the Photopass CP position you were hoping for last year?:daisy:

DAS (Disability Access Service) was put into place in October of 2013.
If your last trip was before that, you used the GAC (Guest Assistance Card), which was discontinued when DAS was begun.

Phone CMs can't tell you whether or not you would 'qualify' for DAS; only Guest Relations CMs at the park can authorize DAS.
Many people who used GAC will not get DAS because their needs are not related to waiting in line, which is what DAS was set up to address.
Guests whose primary need is mobility will generally NOT be given DAS because mobility devices can be used in lines/attractions without DAS. Guests with need to sit in the front row or other location needs might have gotten GAC, but that sort of thing is not a feature of DAS.

To request DAS, you need to be able to explain your disability related issues that are connected with waiting in the regular line.

You can find more information here:

The first post in that thread is up to date; other pages were written just before and when DAS was put into use.

I have not had an issue. More information would be required before we can really explain what may have happened.

My DD has had a GAC since she's a baby. Last year we brought the old GAC and got a DAS, is she in the system now or do we have to explain her needs again?

It depends on the CM sometimes I have to explain my needs again other times no

It depends on what you need it for. The eligibility under the old GAC is different than the DAS. For example, people with mobility challenges are usually not eligible now because most lines are now fully accessible.

Yes, she is in the system now.
I only had to explain my needs the first time going from the GAC to the DAS. I have renewed my DAS probably 15 or more times (AP holder) and have never been asked to explain my needs. Every once in a great while ( maybe 2 or 3 times total) a CM may say "have your needs changed any?" But never asked to reexplain them.
YMMV as to whether a CM will ask any questions but it doesn't seem to happen much IMO.

Thanks so much. Yes over the years they have asked us if any needs changed. Thanks again

I brought my paper DAS with me on our recent trip and handed it over asking to renew it, the CM called over another CM to take care of it while we upgraded to AP's, and all the second CM asked was if I had already had one. She took my picture and explained how to use it now that it is electronic. In the past out of 3 times renewing it I was asked to explain why only once after initially getting it. Since I use an ECV, that time was just to ensure I wasn't asking for it for mobility issues.
