Hi everyone! This is my first post, so I wanted to introduce myself. I've been reading the DIS boards for a while now, and this is the best site for getting info for anything Disney! I am married and a father of 3 beautiful girls; 4 year-old twins and a 2 year-old. I'm in the process of planning our first WDW trip as a family(my wife and I went in '98 and 2000)!! We're hoping to stay at the Poly, but any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

Since it is your girls' first visit staying at the Poly will be great and very convenient to the MK. Just be certain to go to at least one character meal, if they are like Winnie the Pooh I'd suggest the Crystal Palace. Just relax and have a good time. Spend some time at the resort for relaxing and swimming and afternoon naps.

:welcome: I have to agree make time to relax and swim at the resort and also take lots and lots of pictures. Happy planning :dance3:

WELCOME TO THE DIS!!!!! I think the Poly will be an excellent choice for your familys first stay! I hope you have a great trip!:thumbsup2

Welcome! Staying on the monorail is great for when you have little ones who may need a break during the day. As someone else stated character meals are a fun way to have your little ones interact with the characters. If your girls like the princesses, than I would suggest Cinderella's Royal Table (it is fun to do at least once) or the Akershus Princess Storybook at the Royal Banquet Hall in EPCOT ( a buffet with some of the popular princesses).
Just remember have a blast and stop and smell the roses!!

Welcome 3PD. As the father of twin daughters, let me give you a special hello, and some tips on taking care of those soon to appear gray hairs;)

Welcome aboard. The DIS is an awesome place. So when are you going? The first family trip should be a magical experience.

My only real suggestion at this point would be to invest in the dining plan if you will be doind a character meal/ table service meal every day.

Have fun...:thumbsup2

Welcome to the Dis! The Polynesian is beautiful. You will love it. Now that we have 4 kids we like All-star Movies and Pop. Gotta have two rooms with our crew! To get started planning a trip for our family I like to look up the crowd calendar from the Unofficial Guide and pick our days. Then, after picking which parks will have the lowest crowds, I start planning our Dining reservations. Some of our favorite restaurants are Liberty Tree Tavern, Crystal Palace (Pooh characters), Mama Melrose's, Akershus (princess lunch), and LaCellier. Hope ya'll have a great time!

Welcome and have fun planning the trip! Everyone here has been exceptionally helpful with tips and great advice! :woohoo:
