So I did it guys I went out today and got myself the new D90...This is my first DSLR and I'm super excited to start my journey! I also picked up the 70-300mm VR so I got myself a decent starting kit. Look forward to taking some pics this weekend and getting them up here for you all to critique! Thanks for everyones suggestions through my long journey of picking out my first DSLR!

One quick question: What photo hosting site does everyone recommend?

Good for you! Welcome to the Nikon DSLR family. Everything I've read about the D90 has been extremely positive and I'm certain you will enjoy it immensely. Just in time for a "field test" at The World, too! I call that a win-win!

NICE! Welcome to Nikonians!!

I've used flickr in the past, but no longer put stuff there. I have photobucket for basic stuff but haven't used it in a while. Now I'm using smugmug and really like it. I have about 4500 images uploaded there. All full size images and its easy to share links here and I also like that I can set the security and privacy better than flickr and photobucket. I upgraded to the Power account and I can upload video's if I need to and can also put right click protection on some galleries. I've had a bunch of people buy photos from the site and they've been happy with them.

If you go with smugmug and want to save $5 you can use my coupon code:

Now get out there and start taking some pictures!!!

I also vote for smugmug (and I'll keep my coupon code to myself since handicap18 beat me to it). The other popular one is Zenfolio. One benefit of Zenfolio is that they use Mpix for their printing, which gets very high reviews.

Ill be out today taking some pictures at the topsfield fair so hopefully ill have them up sometimes on monday...ill post some links for sure!

Congrats! I have a new D90 this week too! We leave in three week so hopefully I 'll get some good shots. Can't wait to see your pics! Have a great timeand enjoy!

I just signed up for smugmug as well. In case you didn't know...you can get your first year at 50% off by using the discount code "Yahoo" when you set up your account. That's what I did, so it's $20 for the year, rather than $40.

Welcome to the Nikon family. I just became a member two weeks ago when I purchased the D60 and so far, everyone has been great and REALLY helpful. This is the perfect place to ask questions, get opinions and critiques and learn how to use your first dSLR. :goodvibes
