Hi we are Disney veterans but this is the first time I've managed to get my husband to agree to a cruise :-) We have 3 sons who are 6,9,12 and we're very excited about our cruise in just over 2 weeks time.

I feel very unprepared though! For some reason I'm not finding what I want on the website

I need to know do you need to reserve tickets for the pirate party or character meals?
Also are there really enough sun loungers for everyone in castaway cay and are there umbrellas?

Is there anything else I should be reserving now?

Thanks in advance for any answers to my rookie questions !

No reservations for Pirate Night. Open to everyone.

Plenty of chairs at CC - maybe not right at the water, but plenty of chairs. I know on the adult beach there are 2 loungers and 2 beach chairs clustered around each umbrella.

As far as anything else, I think you can pre-register kids for the kids' club. If you want adult dinner at Palo or Remy one night, check that. Ditto if you want Frozen meet & greet or Princess gathering (I know more than a few boys who are more into that than Marvel, so I'm just putting the option out there). And if you want any excursions in Nassau or on Castaway.

There will be no character meals and Pirate Night is open to all, like most activities on the cruise. Since you don't have girls, you likely won't want to reserve meetings with princesses, which is the main kids' activity ticket to worry about on a 3-day cruise. There will be tons of scheduled yet unticketed photo ops with non-princess characters throughout the cruise. If you're sailing the Dream, then I recommend getting tickets for the sports simulators if available. I also recommend trying a Palo brunch or dinner with your husband. There will be tons of loungers on Castaway Cay, and a few hammocks, too. One reason the cruises are popular with Disney families is that they require a lot less planning than the parks. Besides port adventures, there isn't much else to plan in advance for such a short cruise.
