As promised, a quick review of our dinner tonight. Checked in, escorted to lobby where Cindy was. She was a little aloof with DD and DS in a wheelchair. Practically no time spent. Quickly escorted upstairs to table. Children served starters along with parents. Kids had carrot, celery, cheese cubes, mozzerella sticks and grapes with ranch dressing to dip it in.
Adults had choice of eggroll, soup (very good) and salad with egg, bacon ect.. in a vinigrette, excellent! Kids had hot dogs with tater tots, carrots and green beans. Not impressed for $25.
Both Adults had the prime rib. Very good and large. With potatoes au gratin so-so. Dessert was kids had a choice of sundae or rasberry sorbet. Grownups had a choclate cake, blueberry buckele (good) and rasberry sorbet. Towards the end Fairy Gmother comes in and does a short routine with two mice. However, it is possible that you could miss it. She is not there all the time and I saw several familes eat and leave prior to the show. Best seating for the show seems to be in the middle of the restaurant.
I will say, for as much as we paid, I expected more Photos were fab as was the litho but I think kids would have rathered had the wand and sword as none are given out at dinner. I would book this again, maybe, as a lunch but never again as a dinner. Not worth is IMHO. I wil be happy to answer questions so ask away. :wave2:

What were the other entree choices? I have this booked for May and I'm rethinking after hearing about the changes.

Interesting, maybe lunch is the way to go then, thanks so much for posting,

Claire xx

Thanks for your helpful review. What time was your ADR and how long did you wait to be seated when you arrived? Also, how long was the meal -- was it fast paced, slow paced or just right?

What were the other entree choices
Salmon
Pork
Lamb shank
Roasted chicken
and a pasta dish

We had a 5:10 and were seated very quickly after pics. The meal was about 45 minutes. Again I would linger over coffee if you havent seen the fairy gmother yet. I felt it was paced right. Just not worth the money.

After a good sleep, I havent changed my mind, I just don't think this is worth the money. While the food was good, it wasn't $40 good and the kids meal not worth $25. We go to Norway today for the princess lunch. So it will be interesting to compare the two. If you want princesses, do not go to CRT.

Again, this is just my opinion but we will never do dinner there again!! I might try a lunch. Especially if you don't care about the litho.

:thumbsup2 thanks for your review.....we have never eaten at CRT and I would really like to.....maybe lunch is the way to go..... :confused3

Wow, that's a pricey hot dog! I guess if you have never been in the castle it is worth the once in a lifetime experience, but not a do it every time experience.

Is the lunch menu the same as the new dinner menu?

Thanks for the information! I am still going back and forth on dinner here for dd's 13th birthday. I told her that there was no way that I would spend that kind of money (our family would be 4 adults/1 child), but you only turn 13 once.

Does anyone know if they allow substitutions at all? For example, my older two would probably be ok with the roast chicken but would rather have mashed potatoes than polenta. And I know it would be an absolute waste of money, but do you think they would allow dd (13) to choose an adult appetizer and dessert but get a child's entree (paying full adult price, of course)?

Not sure but allears has all the menus :sunny:

Do you have a link? all I can find are the old menus

Can the kids get something else? I don't really want my kids eating hot dogs for dinner. Not that there's anything worng with it but I would prefer if they could get a nice meal. Especially for $25.00. Thanks!

Do they get a sword or wand at lunch? This is the first I've heard of this, would anyone kindly like to explain?

Thanks!
