new Cricut user

Well, I have ordered a Cricut but it hasn't arrived yet but I am already running ideas through my head. Really looking at just doing Disney albums to start. What cartridges do you feel are must haves?

I am getting the luau one (which I think will be useful for meals at the Poly etc) and the Mickey Font.

Oh I love the Pooh and Friends, Mickey and Friends, all the princess ones...I think they are called Dreams come true and happily ever after. I get mine off of ebay

Thanks for your quick response. Did it take you quite awhile to get the hang of the images on those cartridges? Some of the characters look intimidating. If you know what I mean

I am nervous that I have spend all this money and won't be able to figure it out. I bought my Impression with 8 cartridges and also bought Mickey Font and Sweetheart (I think that is the name). Looking around at some pages I am blown away. Actually I have been buying papers and stickers for years but have hardly made any pages because (as the tag fairy has quoted me) I worry "I will find pages and stickers" that are "better". I have finally decided I am just going to make it work with what I have and try not to look at other pages too much and get intimidated. My first book with be of our 3 trips from last year (one including my friend's Disney wedding). After that I want to scrapbook our Disney wedding. The Sweetheart cartridge looked like it had some useful images.

Don't mean to get so chatty but I am quite excited to get my Cricut. Today I started trying to organize the pictures into sleeves and already feel overwhelmed

Pooh & M&F are pretty easy to me
Princess are harder just remember to make the standing ones big - are you getting the baby bug or E?? baby do it as big as you can - E 6 to 7 inches tall are alot better for those #$*@$ eyes - they are wonderful when they are done but getting the eye color in the eye area is really "fun"

next advice - don't look at my blog, I'm a SCAL2 user so I make my own & provo craft really hates SCAL users

E meaning Expression machine? That is the one I bought. Not the 2.

I don't know what SCAL2 is but I m very impressed that you make your own. I have looked at your blog from time to time. Over the years I have stopped by this board but didn't have a good craft space in my current home. I recently set up an area in the spare bedroom which makes all the difference for me.

I was thinking of joining the page challenge because my fear is I will have spent all this money and never finish any pages I don't even know how many years ago the tag fairy gave me sticker/pages tag but I know it has been years since I have made a page. I have been buying stuff so does that count?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Create a Critter, Mini Monster and Wild Card cartridges! I use the Create a Critter all the time!

remember it uses the True Type fonts
so look for free fonts that are true type - I like the wider fonts to cut out best

I can't imagine creating my own files. I can't even imagine making some of the detailed characters on the few cartridges that I have. All in good time. Granted I only seem to get to work on one or two times a week. I can't wait for summer vacation!
