I cant seem to find the original thread regarding the new cc guarantee. Im looking to hear from people who had concerns about this new system.

Particularly im wondering what happened if one of your kids was sick and you couldnt make it to your ADR....were you still charged? or did the restaurant cut you some slack?

Anything you're looking for will be on the Reservations board. Moving this there now.

And I haven't seen reports from anyone who actually tried to do it. But someone somewhere referenced a post that I know I didn't actually read, that was made by a person who missed their ADR because their husband was taken to urgent care from the resort. Reportedly, they were not granted a waiver of the no-show fee. So it doesn't look good that under every circumstance where someone calls past the official cancellation deadline and says their child is sick, that they will be granted a waiver. It's not the restaurant itself you are dealing with when you call. At this point I have to say that I have absolutely no idea under what circumstances waivers of the no-show fee might be granted, or if they will be granted at all.

Check the sticky thread on the Restaurant board that has on it what I have been able to determine from other posts about how the credit card holds are being handled. I didn't mention the post I cited above, because I never actually read that post but read someone else commenting that they had seen it.
