New Covid Cases on a Euro River Cruise

Sounds like they triggered their Covid protocols and did what they were supposed to do. The system works. Meanwhile in my state, yesterday we had 3400 positive cases in one day alone and those people are free to go home and go about their life. Seems like cruising has way better Covid protocols than land based businesses.

I can't wait until people stop expecting a virus not to spread, and stop trying to make the world stand still every time there is a new case.

Yes. At one point we had states reporting over 10,000 positive cases per day. Do you know what made the headlines? There was one single positive case reported on an Alaska cruise. I've never seen such a double standard in all of my lifetime. The mob pitchforks and torches are really out for cruising. Makes no sense. It's like a cop being concerned about writing a $35 parking ticket to a car while ignoring that across the street there is a bank being robbed. The misplaced animosity towards cruising is so odd. Looks like that river cruise did the right thing, I wonder if 2 people caught Covid from Walmart would they do a news article on that?

The two positive cases disembarked, tested positive. Everyone else returned home and was advised to self isolate. The crew is now also isolating. Seems like a solid resolution and great safety protocols were enforced quickly. Gotta get that clickbait headline in there though.

What's clickbait about it? Did 2 positive cases occur? Did everyone else have to return home and isolate?

What is your definition of clickbait? Mine is that it's a form of false advertisement, with content being a lie or misleading. I don't read that in the article.

The cruise industry is trying to re-start and I, for one, want to hear how it's going.

I am on these boards daily and reading articles all of the time, I agree, I am also invested in hearing in how it is going. Yes 2 guests tested positive and yes, crew members did as well. But I think we can both agree throwing the word lockdown around, in a headline like that, brings in fear when they could have said sailings were paused and the crew was self isolating.

I’m not telling a journalist how to write a story. It was to the point and factual.

Didn't the article state the ship is in a 10 day lockdown per a statement from the company? The headline looks accurate to me.
