New Countries in World Showcase?

If Disney really wanted to build a new country, they would just do it.

Since it's been 25 years since a new country was added, they either aren't actively seeking sponsorship partners, or just aren't doing a very good job of it.

Disney prefers to have somebody else pay for any new "country" they add to WS.

So is It in Disney's plans to eventually add new countries and/or attractions to WS? There seems to be room to do so.

they have the room, but not the desire. I bet it won't happen unless they get a sponsor to pay for 100% of it. and apparently the sponsor has to come to them - they won't go looking for sponsors.

I do believe that Disney has approached some sponsors. I just think they aren't buying what Disney is selling.

Oooh! Australia would be awesome! But, they'd have to sell boomerangs in the gift shop. Some kid would try one out and smack someone in the head. Then a free-for-all would break out. No, they can't add Australia.
:rotfl2:

What country would you all like to see? Brazil might be nice. Australia. Caribbean islands.

While there have been some cool possibilities already mentioned - Greece, Russia, Australia, etc., it has always been interesting to me that there is no representation from South America in the WS.

Brazil would be an obvious choice, IMO, and Argentina or Peru (Incas) would also be neat.

Problem (imagined) is that there isn't really a built in Disney Princess/Character to tie to that pavilion and (real) Brazil isn't going to pony up the bucks to build and maintain either.

But just imagine the BTGs swarming towards that area. :rotfl::scared:

Greece seems like an obvious choice since Hercules could be a character tie in. Perhaps a South Pacific Country like the Phillipines or Indonesia with a tie in to the new movie coming out Moana? Brazil would be great but don't see it happening without a major sponsor since it doesn't really have any Disney movie connection.
