? New Construction Photos - SSR ?

Does anyone have any new photos of the current construction going on at SSR? I am reading in some of the post how SSR is a major construction zone. I would just like to see how the construction is coming along. I've got upcoming reservations and will not change them. As I see it there will only be four buildings open when I am there so It will be like having the resort and all the amenities to myself. I'm just hoping that the next phase will be almost finished so construction will not be as big of an issue.

Please, could someone keep us updated with ongoing construction pictures. Pretty please.

Until someone comes up with new photos, I'll try to draw a mental picture for you.

You enter the grounds at #21. Looking at the map, it's easy to see why the current construction really hits you in the face as soon as you arrive. The property immediately on your left is all being developed, and the completed guest buildings are about the farthest point from where you enter.

Anyway, as of a month ago, all of the buildings in The Paddock (five buildings numbered 15) were not much more than steel framework. Large cranes and bulldozers were on-site working to erect those buildings. As you drive along Broadway into the resort, I believe there was a temporary wall the entire length of the road for safety purposes. But obviously a 10-12' wall cannot block out the cranes and girders.

As you get further into the resort, the buildings in The Springs (#14) appear to be the ones scheduled for early 2005 opening. Much of the exterior construction on these three units was already complete. I believe one of them was being painted while we were at the resort.

If I were to guess, I'd say that in 5 months, the buildings in The Springs will show little sign of construction. There will probably still be a wall up for safety purposes, but the exterior will largely be complete.

The last of the buildings in The Paddock will be almost a year away from opening, so they will still be in an unfinished state. Hard to predict exactly how that portion of the resort might look later this year.

I just got back yesterday from staying at our 'home' SSR and while we were there we did an add-on to our already existing points!!!! Our guide gave us the low-down!!!!

The construction plan is as follows:

2 buildings already open with the next opening on July 5, then August. This will the Congress Park area finished with the new walkway to DTD.

Then one building will open every month until April 05. With the three buildings in the Springs area open by end November this year. (They are already painting the first building as we speak!)

This is a major point for DVC guides as some people are being put off by the construction you encounter as you enter on your left (The Springs area) which is directly across from the main pool and quite obvious.

The Paddock buildings are rolled out from Dec of this year and will be fully complete and opened every month until Apr 05.

On a side note we were told we were number 2882 to join (Last Oct) and since then over 11,000 have signed up!!!! (No wonder they've announced Phase 3.

The resort as we know it now will be done in April 05.

Phase 3 consists of another 7(! - yes 7!) buildings and will be complete in '07.

Here is a link to my photo album of SSR. http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4286528827 I only have one photo of the construction, which was taken from the corner of the turn in for the DVC preview center. I didn't find the construction to be a problem. You don't see it much when walking around the main pool area. If you were staying in Congress Park with a parking lot view, you'll probably see it. I didn't notice much noise from the sites. The picture is number 45.HTH.
