Hi everybody!
I just received an email from Disney with new discounts codes for FL residents for August and September 2009. All dates are included, but three days are excluded: Aug 19, 20 and 21. Since My husband's birthday is August 20th we were planning on going on that date.
Anyone know why they excluded that date? I did a search and I did not come up with any Holiday or special event or what. Am I missing something here?
Thank you for your help!!!! :)

I ran the week around those dates on a room only for the Florida residents, and it only came back with 2 resorts... Saratoga Springs & Wilderness Lodge. BUT, the rate shown each day was the same rate. It was $164/day for a studio at Saratoga vs. $295 rack rate. And it was $219/day for a courtyard view bunkbed at WL vs. $315 rack rate.

Thank you marcielm!
I searched POR for Aug 18 (included in promotion) and it costs $94. Then I did a search for Aug 19 (not included in promotion) and it gives me $119 as price. But could be that the only choice left was a King room, and that is more expensive by itself. So I think you are right and they seem to have good deals for those three days I mentioned earlier also; I am just unlucky that I can't find the resort I would like for the date I would like (I was aiming for POP or POFQ for the 19th)
Thank you for your help :)

They are excluded because there is nearly no availability. Just becaue they are excluded, still you should ask. I was trying to get ONE day, 8/21 a Friday night and there are no values and no moderates (except king rooms, which sleep 2). There was some deluxes available, but nothing cheap. There was SSR and OKW available for $169 a night before taxes. This is the availability through the GP discount and the AP discount. The FL resident discount pulls from the same group. You can probably go online to check availability on the GP discount through the website to get a feel for what is availability. We were looking for a room for my SIL and GS for one night, so now we are going to book a room at the Holiday Inn Express for them. They are driving first thing Saturday morning to go home, we just wanted them to get a good night sleep first.

Thank you for the suggestion, I will call and see what they say. We might be able to squeeze in a king room, since our daughter is only 2. But is going to be interesting, since she moves a lot. I too, I was hoping for a value, but got no luck.
Forgive me for asking, what is GP?

Have a nice stay in Disney with your family, and thank you for your help! :)

GP=general public

I plan to keep trying just in case there are cancellations. However, on the full price website value resorts are open there. I hope they throw them our way if they can't fill them.
