New CM stuff

I keep hearing about this AC Moore place. We don't have those here. :guilty: What is it like? Is it all craft stuff like Michaels or is it a store more like Target? :confused3

Around here, AC Moore was the original super craft store! Michael's is the Johnny-come-lately. ;) Don't feel too badly about not having one. Ours carries pretty much the same stuff - very few differences really when it comes to scrapping.

I've noticed recently that I've spend more on certain items at AC Moore than they would have been at Michael's. This has happened more than things costing more at Michael's. Mostly though, things cost about the same at both.

I live in MI or OH depending on Day. No AC moore's around here either. I have come to love Artivers, JOanns ETC and the lss's. I can fnd basic stuff at joanns and the more specity stuff at Artivers or LSS.
For person who always thinks of joanns as a fabric store that maybe true in your case, I know around my parents house thats exactly what they are, down here in OH they are more like Michaels, hobby lobby etc. but they are also Called Joanns ETC. the ETC being the tip.

Hi Gang!

I have to say that I am quite surprised to see a Scrapbooking thread going astray. One of the things I have always loved about this board is the fact that there is usually no fight here. I would really like to keep it that way.

Differences of opinions are fine, but the DIS prohibites personal attacks. Nothing here has gotten that far and I really, really hope we can keep it that way.

Now back to your regularly scheduled scrapbooking. :D :wave2:

Ok, just got back from Regionals!! Big news!!!!!!!!!
CM is coming out with their own Photo Processing Center, meaning you can upload your pictures to them and they will get them back to you in 3-5 days!! Your CMC will have more info on this when it becomes available in May. Really exciting! :cheer2:
Also they are coming out with new 12 x 12 books that have ornamental medalions on them, one per season, the first will be sage for the spring. They are beautiful! Of course there are also stickers to coordinate. They will release one every season.
The Journaltopia is very cool too if you can't write in a straight line! It's a ruler with wires attached in loops. It allows you to make decending letters without moving the ruler....you have to see it to understand, ask your CMC.
Umm, trying to think, oh yes, the new paper line that someone posted about earlier and the paper to fit CM pages....can't wait for that one!
That's all I can think of now....lots to look forward to!

Spinning: when I used to be a CMC I would tell my customers to use their personal paper trimmer to cut some waxed paper or aluminum foil. After a few cuts it should sharpen your blade right up (you should only have to buy 1 trimmer, it's not an item that needs to be replaced).

I hope that works for you :)

Interesting about the photo processing!

So, did you love your big goodie bag filled with all the new stuff? I thought that was the best thing about regionals when I went. The rest was way too "rah-rah" for me, but it was interesting!

I wasn't really happy with that, I thought we would get sooo much more. We got the new album, the stickers to match and the journaltopia. Plus a whole bunch of sales slicks :confused3 I was hoping we would get more, (like the 12 inch cutter!) but I guess we got meals too. It was really great though, it was my first one and my last since they aren't having regionals anymore :(

Huh, no more regionals? For me I thought it was a waste of time because I was really only into CM for fun; not for making money and moving my way up the totem pole. Regionals puts a LOT of emphasis on who made what sales, who earned trips, etc and it just put a bad taste in my mouth...there were women *crying* at our table because they were so anxious about winning the upcoming trips and stuff. At least last year it seemed we almost got out money's worth in the goodie bag and the food. The one bummer for us attending the Portland regional last year, was that all the stuff was already available to purchase thru the catalog- there weren't any surprises or new things- we had all just seen it in Scraps! I do remember getting the champagne album, lots of the ABC stickers, the toddler stickers, and one of the titletopias.

Did they say why they are not doing regionals anymore? Lack of attendance? Or some new format?

Yes, It will be a new format, they are going to more cities and it will only be 1 day, not overnight. That way they can get to more consultants and it can be closer to home and more will be able to attend.
We do have ordering perks for going to regionals, we can order some of the new March items now, not exactly sure which ones though. I understand what you mean about the trips, I think this year, everyone knew if they were going or not before since it's done by points. My upline got the middle trip, she's so excited. Maybe one day! :cloud9:
The trip definately got me motivated...today I scraped 6 pages, did all my inventory for taxes. and organized all my stuff!!!
