New Cinderella Dinner--Any reports??

Dana,
Thanks for your report, sounds very nice! Thanks for the tip about watching the fireworks too. Our ps is for 5:20 so that will be perfect. And that is also the perfect distance for 2yo DD to watch the fireworks. She doesn't like to be right there!

I understand completely about the $$$$ and which one to choose. I will tell you that we did both 2 weeks ago and it just depends. My parents, husband and DD's loved the Gala Feast and had a great time and were very pleased with the offerings. We did the Princess Breakfast and were also pleased. Not as much as with the Dinner, but pleased. The eggs, potatoes, sausage and bacon were good. The muffins and that seemed stale. I personally enjoyed both but preferred the Feast, but yet again my 5 yr. old dd loved seeing Snow White, Jasmine, Belle and Mulan. I will also say again that the food for Cinderella's was FANTASTIC.

Sorry, this probably confused you more.

A poster earlier mentioned valet parking, which is a good idea.

Remember if you are staying at a WDW resort, the valet parking fee at your resort covers valet parking at all other WDW resorts.

Wendi, would you consider a little post about the food. Do you remember the dessert area???:earsgirl:
Were there carved meats, etc??? I know I'm tiresome, I've read the menu but it's not the same as an actual description.

figmentvi - are you sure about the valet parking? We stayed at BWV last year and went to the Poly for lunch. We thought valet would be free but they insisted that it was not and we had to pay the $6.00. I'm confused...

She is right. On our valet parking pass, it said that you can valet park all day for the day that you paid. So, if you do stay at a WDW resort that has valet parking and you pay for that day, you can go to the grand floridian and valet park for free. Don't forget the tip. ;)

Valet parking is free for that day at all resorts that have valet parking BUT if you are DVC free valet parking is only for the DVC resorts. You would have to pay to valet park at Poly, GF, etc.

Does anyone know what the latest seating is for this dinner? We are wondering if we would have time to do this our first night at WDW.
Thanks!
DJ

We're back and my DD and I ate here on Sunday night. Our ps was for 7:00 and we finished at about 8:30 and there were still people coming in, but not very many. It was very crowded at 7:00. The characters were as said before - Cinderella and Prince in the lobby and Fairy Godmother, Suzy & Perla coming around to the tables. They were all very good! Since we were there at a later time and the restaurant was clearing out, they came around several times. The food was really good, too. I'm not very good at remembering what I had, but I'll try. There was prime rib (carved for you) - very good, mussels - don't eat them, turkey - good, some sort of pork - very good, some pasta - didn't try it, corn - okay, salad - good, cream of mushroom soup and some other kind of soup - didn't eat, strawberry soup - delicious (tasted kind of like melted strawberry ice cream), some kind of potatoes - very good, that's all I can remember right now. There were 4 dessert tables! One had a fruit cobbler and some kind of bread pudding - didn't try either of those. One had cookies - I ate one, thought it was oatmeal, but it was some kind of chocolate - a little strange, but okay. There were several other things on this table, but I forgot what they were. Another table had lemon tarts - delicious, key lime pie - good, but it had a chocolate crust that didn't seem to blend with the lime flavor, and some other things. The last table had cupcakes - chocolate with chocolate frosting and yellow with white frosting, plus gummy bears, sprinkles, and m&m's to decorate them with. I think most everyone could find something they liked here. The night we were there the fireworks were at 8:00 and we were hoping to see them, but didn't make it. We also had a problem getting back to our resort (CS), because the MK closed at 7:00 and by the time we got on the monorail at about 9:00, the MK station was closed. I think we could've gotten off at the Cont. and walked to the bus stop, but I didn't see any busses there as we passed and I was afraid to try it, so we got off at the TTC and got on the EPCOT monorail since EPCOT had just closed. Then we caught a bus from there. Sorry this is so long, but hope it's helpful to someone. We had a GREAT time at the dinner!

Can't you take a bus from the TTC to any resort? If so, how late do the buses run .....we will be there in 2 days & I know we are going to run into the same type problems because of early park closings....

We took a cab from the GF to the Beach Club, it was $12.
We just went out front to the valet and asked for a cab, he called one up and it arrived in about 5 minutes.

I think the only resort that has a bus at the TTC is Wilderness Lodge/Fort Wilderness. There is no longer a Downtown Disney bus from the TTC.

From GF, if MK or Epcot is still open, you could monorail there and transfer to a bus. Otherwise, go through Downtown.

I'm looking forward to this dinner on 2/6!

We were at the 1900 Cinderella dinner on Jan 20. We ate at 5:30. The food was very good, but I was dissapointed in the Characters. The Prince and Cinderella barely took time to visit and we had to wait for over an hour before the Fairy Godmother came to our table.
Last year we had the breakfast. Mary Poppins colored for a long time with my granddaughter and one of the other characters was at our table constantly. It was much better. The food at this place is so good!! I love that strawberry soup and my daughter says she can probably never eat bread pudding again without vanilla sauce. So even though the characters ineraction was not great at the dinner, we will eat there again just for the food!
We also had lunch one day at Hollywood and Vine at MGM with Minnie and friends. It was great fun! Goofy and Chip and Dale were a riot.

We did this on the 31st for DDs 4th birthday dinner. As usual, the food was quite good. I was a little disappointed in the children's buffet - no vegetables??? We did grab some veggies from the adult buffet for the girls.

The character interaction was lacking, in my opinion. We did wait quite a while longer than we had to at any of the other meals. Cinderella seemed to be quite bored with it all. I think the addition of the step-sisters would be a boost to the "Character" of the dinner.

Don't you just love the way the kids are supposed to only eat chicken fingers, french fries and mac & cheese? When we were at The Land in Epcot a few years back, we left the Food Rocks show and went to the Garden Grill only to find that the kids plate didn't include veggies!! Of all the places not to have a balanced meal! I wrote a letter to WDW about that one - no response, but I think they include a veggie now.

I agree about the stepsisters too!

We had ressies for friday night at 6:10 , we arrived at 6:00 after being on boats and a bus which took an hour from the wl, the place was packed we waited in line for 20 minutes to sign in and was told it was still a wait, we peeked in the room , no cinderella, just the mice suzie and pearla, the room was so bright there was screaming kids running around everywhere, the room smelled of fish sticks , I thought for some reason that it would be elegant and pretty, with princesses, it looked like a elementary school cafeteria , cinderella was in the lobby when I went back in with a line of about 25 kids around her. So we decided not to stay, If cinderella doesn't come around the room then we might as well wait in toon town to see her. For the money it didn't seem worth it.We went to liberty tavern at magic kingdom and had a ball with minnie chip dale and goofy and pluto.the food was great! turkey stuffing mashed potatoes, ham, beef and macaroni and cheese, salad with a strawberry dressing that was wonderful, also desert boston cream cake or ice cream
