Guests Can Now Enjoy Gourmet South American-Style Rotisserie Within Latin Quarter

From Universal Orlando Resort's press release:
Orlando, Fla. (June 16, 2011) – Universal Orlando Resort guests can now enjoy even more delicious dining options at CityWalk with the addition of churrascaria menu offerings at a brand new Brazilian steakhouse experience now open within Latin Quarter. The new savory main courses are served “rodizio” style, which means a continuous service of South-American rotisserie skewers full of exquisite meats brought directly from the grill and sliced tableside throughout the entire experience.

Conveniently located in the upper level of Latin Quarter, churrascaria dining is a totally new experience housed within the favorite, award-winning cantina and club. Not only can guests enjoy a variety of mouth-watering main courses, such as filet mignon, roast beef, short ribs, lamb, pork and the house specialty picanha (top sirloin), but there is also a decadent buffet and gourmet salad bar filled with American favorites and authentic Brazilian side dishes.

“The churrascaria offerings at Latin Quarter capture a piece of Brazilian culture by providing guests with an authentic rodizio dining experience here at Universal CityWalk,” said Ric Florell, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Resort Revenue Operations.

Whether enjoying the new churrascaria experience upstairs, or the main dining room, all guests to Latin Quarter will experience the delicious delicacies of Latin America amidst the restaurant’s unique décor of a star-filled sky near an ancient Mayan temple. Reservations for churrascaria dining are suggested. For more information or to make a reservation, please call (407) 224-2691 or visit

FYI - they are not taking reservations as of now, and only accepting walk-ups. I was looking to make reservations for our July vacation. I was told to try them again in a few weeks and see if they have changed their policy.

Wow, DS would love this. I'd like to know how pricey it will be.

Ok, I just found an article listing the prices. Adults are $36.99, kids 7-12 are half price, and 6 and under are free.

I love churrascaria. Great stuff when it's done right. But holy sodium -- don't take a BP reading for a day or two after eating at a place like this.

A lot cheaper than Texas de Brazil a few blocks away. Looking forward to hearing about how good it is.

First disboarder to go needs to bring back a photo of the menu.

Never been to this type of a restaurant before, so I'm excited to give it a try! Just made reservations through Open Table for our July trip. :thumbsup2
How is Latin Quarter overall?

Just told my hubby about this. He is excited. The other places at CityWalk always get a whatever response from him. lol

I would love it if someone could report back on how kid friendly this place is. Our son has a very limited diet and at 'Ohana they brought him a chicken tenders/fries meal, but at Texas de Brazil they had nothing but their regular buffet and meat which didn't work at all. Curious what they mean by "American favorites" ?

Will be making a reservation for our August trip soon. Looks brilliant -Mythos may be getting replaced! Anxiously waiting for a DIS review!

This is an example from a similar restaurant in New York. These are the meats they serve there. Again, probably not identical to the one in Orlando, but this will give you an idea.

Top Sirloin

Pork Loin

Flank Steak

Beef Tender Loin wrapped in Bacon

Skirt Steak

Turkey wrapped in Bacon

Prime Rib

Brazilian Sausage

Long Beef Ribs

Leg of Lamb

Barbecue Chicken

Just got back late last night from a 2 week WDW/US trip. We went to this restaurant Saturday night. Wow! :cloud9: We love meat and this was meat heaven. I told my family that if I died in my sleep that night, be at peace, because at least I went happy. The food was so good. There were several cuts of meat: ribs, chicken drumstick, pork, bacon wrapped chicken breast, top sirloin, filet mignon, rib eye, and lamb (I may have forgotten one or two, forgive me I was in a meat induced stupor). They would bring out a skewer of meat and cut it at the table. I think my favorite was the top sirloin. As far as the rest, there was a salad bar with black bean soup, lobster bisque, caesar salad, field greens, various other salads, deli meats, cheeses, rice, a type of mashed potatoes, plantains, rolls, sushi, etc... I don't remember much about the extras because I didn't want to waste valuable stomach space on sides. Sorry:rolleyes1. We didn't have any young children so I am not sure if there were items available that were not on the buffet. My final opinion is that it was well worth the money and I think it will become very popular once the word gets out.

Thanks for the review. Are you familiar with these types of restaurants? If so, how would you say it compares to other churrascaria restaurants you enjoy?

This was a first for us, but it definitely won't be our last.
