New Christmas Cabin Camper Questions

3 weeks and counting....YEEEEE-HAW!!

So we're starting to get serious about this trip that we thought would never get here and trying to hash out the details. Yes, I could spend time researching this site and probably find all the answers, but with so many experts....

A couple questions:
1. Are consumables provided? Obviously yes to TP, but paper towels? Coffee? Creamer? Dish soap?

2. I'd LOVE to decorate our cabin, but we're flying. Can we rent decorations? (That may sound weird, but you can rent everything else...I'd say there's a market for it.)

3. Does the Meadow snack bar offer alcohol? Garden Grocer doesn't offer it on their list, but I've heard they can be sweet-talked.

4. Has anyone seen a movie schedule for Dec.? We'll be there the 3rd-10th.

I can feel your excitement Cori. Here is my take:

1. Others will have to answer this one. Long time since I was in a cabin.

2. Do this to decorate. Throw in a 6-12 foot extension cord, a long string or two of lights, and some duct tape in your suitcase. The cabin has an external plug on the deck and you can rig the lights onthe railing of the deck. Plug inthe lights when u leave for the day so when u come back your lights will lead you "home". Cabins dont decorate as much as trailer sites so you will stand out.

3. Meadow snack bar is dry. Beer and harder stuff is at the fort trading posts but VERY expensive. Beer/wine is cheaper at the Hess gaz stations at Downtown Disney (bus) or near the Disney studios entrance by the Swan/Dolphn. Hard stuff you need to venture off property.

4. Movie schedule usually is published around the first of the month. You might get it at checkin before we do. At best it willbe only a day or two before you arrive.

TP, Paper towels and dish soap are provided.
Coffee, creamer and sugar are not provided.

You are provided with a small amount of coffee packets for the 4 cup coffee maker and sugar and non dairy creamer. If you need more you can ask mousekeeping for more. There is also a large 10 cup coffee maker you can use if you bring your own coffee and flat bottomed coffee filters.
There is always a supply of papers towels, garbage bags dish soap,dish washer detergent and bathroom products. If you need more ask your mousekeeper they are wonderful.
Have a great trip. You will love the cabins and Fort Wilderness. We won't stay any place else.

They forgot to mention that you can rent fishing poles at the bike barn behind the Meadows store. And they sell worms too, and at $6.bucks a box, they should be magical !!

I don't know about renting decorations but Disney Floral and Gifts will sell you the stuff,,,,,, for a price.

Whoo hoo!! You go ... I like that!!

My husband is an electrician. One year, he had lights outlining the whole cabin - like a gingerbread house. And a 6' tree in the window of the cabin.

We are definitely Christmas freaks ... will take a drive around the cabin loops to see all your hard work!!

in the cabins it would be hard to put up a tree and use the murphy bed, not enough room.

I would also so....in regards to whats in the cabin.....if you find that you need something extra, like a skillet or cooking utensil, you can call the front desk and they can bring most anything to you. They have been right on things for us several times......

Garden Grocer will definitely deliver beer. Just list specifically what you want in the comment section. You may have to fax them a copy of your ID, or may not. Sometimes they request it from us.
I am sure they would also deliver wine, but you might have to call and talk to them about how much you want to spend on the bottles and see what selection they can get. They do sell bottles of wine in Epcot and in the store at the Poly, probably other places as well. The Trading Posts at FW have a few things, but not a huge selection. I am not sure about hard liquor.

And you will see lots of Christmas decorations at the cabins. A lot of people drive in to stay there, and they must pack their trunks with lots of goodies!

We've seen lots and lots of decorations at the cabins (my family included) I guess a lot of people fly so they can't bring much. But, if you're driving, have at it. Just bring lots of extension cords. There is an outdoor outlet on the deck. There is room for a small tree on one of the cabinets that surround the murphy bed.

We always decorated the cabin more than our own home since we were there during the major part of the holiday. Alas we wont be there this year.
