New Castaway Club gift bag?

You and me both! Our last couple cruises as gold we received the photo album. But in this digital age, we didn't use either of them. And I adore my coffee!!

We got only one tumbler on our EBTA last year. I think they must have been short of supply. I really would like to get another.

In the past, the sling bags were given on the Alaska (Wonder) cruises. The European cruises received a back pack. That's what we got last year on the TA

We received the backpack on our Alaska cruise last summer. Would much prefer the sling bag to the burlap!

The sling bags were also given on European cruises, that's where I got mine in 2014 and 2015 (above)

I know last year they got that backpack. This sling bag is different. Admittedly nicer looking than the old version but still not great!

Oh, I didn't catch that those were luggage tags. I hope they're not the Gold gift now. Pretty tacky, IMO.

Apparently according to the persons post they're platinum so I suspect the tags are the gold gift

I've used the Castaway beach bag on occasion and have been told it looks "girly", so they do go mostly unused. Our best back was a backpack we got on our 3rd cruise. We loved it. When doing an excursion that includes hiking, kayaking, etc. the beach or cinch bags aren't that great. Of the 3 bags we've received, the backpack was the best. Upside for us has been we don't go enough to get the same bag twice.

We have two of the Castaway Club backpacks and love them. We use them mostly when we go into the parks. They are nice and roomy inside and hold water bottles on the outside.. Those are pretty much the only ones we use out of all the bags we received on DCL. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the gift items that we get. Last cruise, we also received a huge photo album. Still have not printed any photos though. Maybe once we are retired, the bags will come in handy. LOL

Just off the Wonder PC cruise and at gold level we received the backpack and 2 luggage tags. The backpack is pretty small but I was glad it was something different.

I guess I'm in the minority. We got a back pack several years ago. The blue one, not a sling. And it did NOT hold up to heavy use at all. The bottom tore out of it pretty quickly. All of these are inexpensive items that Disney can acquire, so we get what we get. My first gold cruise will be July 18, so I'll see when I get there.

I would love a sling bag or moreso backpack (as I'm clearly challenged in "how to properly use a sling bag") - but as I'm pretty much relegated to Bahamas or Caribbean I seem doomed to get the stupid beach bag. I wish they would get it that not everyone uses a "beach bag" for the beach!!!

I think the issue is they change the things that most people don't want changed, like the Gold gift. I would prefer they keep the tumbler over the luggage tags. But I agree with changing the burlap bag (or any other beach bag type) for a backpack type.

Looks like if we would like an insulated tumbler we better heard to the gift shops...

Yeah, the tags are a little too large/in your face. I will probably leave them behind... I hope the European cruises get a different bag than the sling. We are sailing Norway in June and the Wonder to Mexico in October. It'd be nice to get two different bags.

I have use one for sports, and another one when riding my bike or going out, all sling bags are better made than the beach bags

We do? For years I used a sling laptop bag - all through college - and my husband uses one for his camera bag so he can easily get the camera out without taking the whole bag off.
