New Car Day!!!

Well, new to me, anyway!!! DD15 will be driving soon and we need another family car. A friend had alerted me to a used car she and her husband had looked at. A Mercury Mariner Hybrid 2008, with 19K miles.

We looked today, test drove, and I will pick it up at 5pm!!

DD15 thinks of it as "hers" and she will probably drive it most often - I am going to upgrade my 7 year old minivan in a year or two - but I wll drive it when I want (because I'm the mom and I paid for it!!)

We're pretty excited!!

We just picked it up and it is beautiful. DD15 is so thrilled she is practically floating - and I am glad I found a good deal on the car I wanted!

Congrats! I was going to get a new car to replace my 8 year old Rodeo with no a/c, but DH's 10 year old truck died on us so he got a new truck instead. It's so nice to have a/c again.

I hope you and your DD have lots of fun with it!

It's Ice Blue - DD20 and I are so jealous!!! Our cars are gold and navy blue, so this looks very sporty to us. Of course, as I said, I'll get to drive it when I want - and DD15 will be away second semester next year so I'll drive it while she's gone.

But she is thrilled and I am so happy that I found something that suited me and my budget AND made her happy. Because I am a single parent I don't have the option of "Mom or Dad gets a new car so the old one gets passed down to the teen driver", so for each girl I have shopped for a late model low mileage car I thoguht was a good, safe choice. DD20 has had a Mercury Mountaineer for 6 years and loves it, so I wanted to do something similar for DD15. And - next year or the year after, when my van dies, I will treat myself to - probably another minivan!!!
