Hubby and I picked up our new camper on Saturday. What a thrill! Now we just have to wait for the season to start here in New England. I found myself making up excuses to go inside and just sit there admiring it. Does that sound crass, oh well, we have been campers for over 25 years and this is our first "brand new" camper that we have ever owned.
We were talking about our September vacation, we have 2 weeks off, and we think we might tow to Williamsburg, VA. but if we go that far, why not all the way to Fort Wilderness? Can't wait to spring that on Hubby.

I know the feeling. We picked up our first travel trailer Friday night. We even spent the night in it sitting in our driveway. When I got up sat. morn. I was shocked to open the door and see that we had 2 inches of snow! lol We had so much fun. I even cooked a big breakfast that morning. Like you I can't wait for the season to begin. We have a 9 day trip out west in June and a week in Michigan in Aug.
Have fun and enjoy!!!

wifeofjack...I posted this in your old post about the camper...
WIFEOFJACK, I probably know who you are. I camped at Hemlock Hill since I was 3 up until the early 1990's. Ray is my uncle. My parents used to help with everything up there...the dances, bingo, the store, etc. My father even worked at Hemlock Hill RV till he retired about 4 years ago!! Do you know Chic and AL???

PS- congrats again on the new camper!!!

DISNEYBOUND406, did you used to deliver the newspaper at the campground? I vaguely remember a young lad who used to walk around and deliver a paper on the weekends. I think your uncle and wife are terrific people, my husband had your uncle as a teacher when he was in school. It is a small world. I will have to put on my thinking cap and try to remember just exactly who you are.

I tell ya, even though ours is not NEW, it's new to us, and we love to just sit in it, ROFL. We go out, run everything so that it doesn't smell stale, we keep cokes and things in teh fridge so we can stop at our own camper and have a cold drink, SILLY, but fun.

:goodvibes Not silly at all. When we first brought our (used) pop-up home we had to put it up and sleep in it! My DD12 started out calling it the "yickle house" (little house) and DS10 goes out and pats it several mornings a week on our way to school. We love our camper and every time we take her out I fall in love with it all over again. A few weeks ago a fellow came up to my door and offered me cash for it. Sell my beloved Yickle House! I don't think so! I bought that camper with money my dear pop-up-camping father left me. It perfectly suits our needs--not to big, not too small, juuust right :teeth:

btw, my 72yo widowed mother still tows hers up to the mountains or down to the coast a few times a year, cranks it up herself, and even takes the grandkids camping. I figure as long as I'm capable of backing it up and cranking the top we'll be pop-up camping.

WIFEOFJACK...Yes I did deliver the paper at the campground (with my cousin Jason) My Aunt and Uncle sold the campground now though!! Do you remember my parents (Chic and AL)???

I feel so happy for you, I know exactly how you feel, we spent the last two years looking for a TT that we could afford and liked, we came across it two weeks ago ( a new to us cedar creek ). We spent a full day just putting our stuff in it, that was a good feeling. Last year we ended up having to stay at the Alstar music, I'm so glad to " be back" !

Not silly or crass!! I, for one, am another one sitting here in New England and desperately wishing for the camping season! We are still tenters but nonetheless, I can't wait to get out there! I plan to set the tent up the first nice weekend we have, simply to visualize the set-up I want at FW in November!!!!

Enjoy that camper, even if all you can do right now is sit inside! :goodvibes
