Well, I finally moved up in the world of Digital Camera's. I have been using a Sony Cybershot 6mp camera for the past few years, and it has been awesome. I decided to purchase a camera with a larger optical zoom, especially for use on my next WDW trip. I bought the Sony Cybershot DSC-H7/B. I didn't want an SLR as I didn't want to invest that kind of cash, and I wanted something simple enough that my DW and other family members could use easily. I am definitely the phtographer in the family.

My reasons for purchase was the DSC-H7 has a ton of features, 15x optical zoom, image stabalization, and it uses all the accessories my previous cybershot used. So I could save a little $$$ in that respect.

I also bought a JVC-750 mini DV and that was a great purchase as well. Since I won't be going on vacation until May 2008, I need to get in some time with the new camera to see what it can do, so out I went and started shooting.

Since I love the Dis, I thought that I would share some of me test pics with you all. Most of the pics have been taken with zoom, in lower light situations w/o flash. I wanted to see what the camera could do with these conditions as any camera can take decent daylight or flash shot.

So here we go.

These first shots are from Fort Williams, Maine.

Enjoy. I be adding more pics throughout the day.

Great pics! Maine is on my list of places to visit sometime. I have the H5 and love it!!! The H5 has the 12x zoom and it's great. I've also gotten decent night shots and good macro shots.

We leave two weeks from today for 6 nights at Pop Century and I plan on giving it a workout. I have an Optech strap and a pouch (I believe also from Optech) on their way here. I really don't want to carry a camera bag around so I thought this looked like a good option.

Here's a link to a thread with some of my pics from WDW and Captiva Island. It was my first attempt at posting pics online and now I've figured it out!

Have fun playing with your camera!

Glad to hear you like it! I've read some bad reviews lately. We've never stayed at Pop, much less a value, and I'm really excited about it. When we saw it the first time several years ago, I said I'd never stay there.

But I wanted to save some money this trip and started looking at pictures of Pop and reading about it and I'm really looking forward to it. I requested 50's bldg. lakeside view, hoping to see Illuminations from there. I don't know which 50's building would be best for it though.:confused3

Well, my DW and I have stayed at Pop 3 times so far and will be staying again in May 08. We have never had any problems. Everything is clean, people are friendly, we just have a great time. We also travel using the WDW buses and never had to wait more that 20mins for a bus from Pop. It's about a 10 min bus ride to DTD, Epcot, MGM, and Ak and about 15 mins to MK.

When we stayed this past May, we had a room in the 60's overlooking the lake and it was quiet and beautiful. We loved it. :hippie:

Great shots!!! Have a great trip.

That's our experience at Pop as well ... never been disappointed in three trips (the last being just a week ago!).

BTW, those are great boat pics. I agree with SeaSpray; that one's the best of them! :thumbsup2
