Has anyone done this tour yet? (I know it only started a couple of days ago, but if anyone has tried it, it will be a DISer!) We have the tour booked for mid August, so I wondered a couple of things:

1. Where was lunch, and what was offered?
2. What attractions did you get to go on?
3. Can you give a brief description of the tour?
4. Was it worth it?

I have the tour booked for July 30. I spoke to the CM when I made the res and was told.

1. Lunch at Fiddler, Fifer and Practical Cafe on BVS
2. RSR and Soarin Over CA
3, 4 - The CM said he had gone on a preview tour the day before and it was really good

I will write something up after I am finished with my trip. :)

Someone else just did a brief review of this tour and was disappointed. Sounds like you also get to do a drawing at the animation academy as well. Looking forward to other people's reviews and opinions, so please give us an update.

DH and I were on the very first tour. We really liked it! I would recommend it.

1. Where was lunch, and what was offered?
Lunch was provided. I forget the name, but it is like Fifer, Fiddler and something. Sorry, I'm bad with names of places. There were just a few things that you can choose from - some salads and sandwiches. DH had a roast beef sandwich and I had a turkey sandwich. Both were fine - nothing horrible but nothing like total yum either.

2. What attractions did you get to go on?
The 2 attractions were Soarin' over California and Radiator Springs Racers!

3. Can you give a brief description of the tour?
The tour starts off in a VIP lounge. They get you a name tag, take you lunch order, and you just kinda wait for everyone to show up. The offered coffee/water and there is a bathroom you can use before you head out. Oh, and they get your audio device. There is a TV showing cartoons to watch while you wait. The tour takes you to kind of through all the "lands" that DCA has to offer. You get to tour 1901 (but it is brief and you can't take pictures) and you also get front row seats to Animation Academy too. Oh, and you get a nice pin too. I have a picture of it in my trip report on the trip report forum.

4. Was it worth it?
For us, yes. However, if you are a Disney fan, and know all the ins and outs of Walt's history and the history of DL, then some of the info might be boring. For us, we are fans, but a lot of the information was new to us. I do think it is a bit over priced for what it is, but isn't that pretty much everything in DL? We enjoyed our time and had fun!

If you have any other questions, ask away!

Ooops, I forgot that part. The CM told me about the drawing session too. :)

...You get to tour 1901 (but it is brief and you can't take pictures)...
1901 is a feature of the tour, so it's disappointing the visit is brief.
There are many unique items on display, so the tour should spend more time there.
1901 does not even open until 11AM, but might not see a member until several hours later -- there is no reason for the tour to rush or limit pictures.
