5/29/07: DINE: New "Cake Hotline" for Guests requesting celebratory cakes at most Table Service dining locations. The Cake Hotline number is 407-827-2253 and requires 48 hours notice. Guests may request a 6-inch cake(non-personalized) upon arrival at the podium for $12.50+tax (no advance notice required).

Nifty news! Not only do I want to surprise Gabby with a cake during our stay, but a coworker and her hubby are going to WDW in September and the girls in our office thought it would be cool to send them an Anniversary cake at their dinner at the Luau. Thanks so much! Maggie

It would be so nice to be able to have a cake delivered to our room or pick up at the desk at any resort. So much easier than trying to figure out how to get it back from the restaurant.

We did this earlier this month. I asked when I made the ADR. The cake request was on my ADR that the CM looked at. It was a tasty cake. The top is a ~5" white chocolate disk. It had Mickey on it.

When I tried it out the other day, there was a number option for AKL. I believe it said "for custom cakes delivered to the following restaurants listen carefully to the following options" "For AKL, All Star, Carribean beach and DTD and WWOS press #8".

Maybe in-room requests would still need to be made through the resort itself and this 'hot line' is just for restaurants? I don't know. Since this is so new, I think your questions might have to be answered by calling them and asking directly.

Depends on who you get however, in my experience, they take a CC but do not charge your CC unless you don't show up for it. They will ask for payment at the meal itself or once you check in to your resort (if you are having something in your room).

Some have reported not having to give a CC but that is not the norm.
