New Button for us Canadian Folk

I did a quick search and didn't notice any previous posts about this so......

We just made a purchase at the Canada pavilion in EPCOT and the CM working there noticed we were Canadian from my ID. He asked if we'd received the new button they were set to hand out to Canadian visitors - they're kind of nifty and we were super stoked to receive them.


Thought my fellow Canucks would be interested.

I just noticed there's a spot to write our hometown on the pin --- that will be cool to see where others are from. We were there 2 years ago and we wore poppies every day as a way to honour Corporal Nathan Cirillo who was murdered on Parliament Hill and it led to some very interesting conversations (and an incredible outpouring of love & support from everyone as soon as we explained we weren't wearing ROSES! Was amazing how many knew of the event) The most surprising was meeting a CM in line for Buzz -- he grew up in a very small town about 1 hour north of us, fell in love with both Disney and Florida and now lives there but wanted his hometown to still show Grand Valley!

We wished we had brought more poppies with us because the kids working in EPCOT wanted ones for Remembrance day -- several of them had been given the day off and they were feeling homesick!!!

I was under the impression the CMs JUST received them.

We were the first people this particular CM had given them to.

The buttons are not out in the open like the rest of the celebration buttons - they are stored in a cupboard behind the cash desk and my DD was asked if she was Canadian as well before she was given one. So I guess what I'm trying to say is they don't seem to be handing them out willy-nilly and we don't actually turn 150 until 2017 so I think the buttons will be around for a while.

Yes, it was my understanding these buttons will only be available in Canada at EPCOT.
