My son has Asperger's, is 20 but mentally more like 12 or 13 on a good day. Dil jumps out of his skin when physical contact is made that he doesn't see coming. (ex: people bumping him in line or for that matter getting too close). He is fully capable of waiting.
I don't see how a GAC would help prevent getting bumped into, or people getting close. That seems unavoidable at WDW. People get close even on the special needs lines, and members of the groups there act like everyone else (kids cutting ahead, parents pulling them back, climbing on the queques railings, etc.) It is hard though, I have a 23 year old with Downs and Autism who has problems that are similar. He does have problems walking too, and has an obvious disability (although people expect him to behave like most social-verbal DS individuals, and he does not), and uses a Convaid chair. The bonus with the chair is that is gives him a bubble of personal space.
Good luck to you! Fast Pass will help, and I hope you go when it is not too crowded.
