I will be there the week Copper Creek opens in July. Do you think the opening will detract or enhance our vacation experience? Are all the pools open? How about Roaring Forks? I will be taking my two grandkids myself that week. Thanks!

We are at WL now. The new pool looks great. Very detailed rock work. The paths to the cabins are open and you can walk around. Roaring Fork just opened. There is more room now in the store and they did tweak the menu a 'bit. The new additions blend together quite well except the new trees are really small compared to what was there before. In a few years it will look amazing, but right now it is open,
sunny and hotter than Hades.

Bring back the trees
I miss them☹️

Must comment..... we will soon see people staying in the CABINS, FAR from the TWO DSA's currently active at WL. WL has ZERO DSA's designated for Main Hotel Guests. This drives those in the Main Hotel toward a DSA in one of the two Villa Areas.

All of this is a bit hazardous. Faced with a long walk to a DSA (potentially in rain)? Folks on the cabin "wings" are going to go out to the lake, and smoke :(. Folks in the Main Hotel are going to try to sneak balcony smoking. Denial of reality is probably NOT the best course of action.

These would be areas replete with grass, trees - PERFECT for a fire. Far better to recognize reality, and have at least two more DSA's at the outermost cabin areas, N & S.

The Contemporary shows EIGHT DSA's. Poly EIGHT DSA's. GF NINE DSA's. WL? TWO DSA's. And WL is the most heavily wooded :(.
This is a fire waiting to happen :(. It really needs to be addressed.

What's a DSM? I thought I finally understood all the abbreviations but DSM has me stumped!

Designated smoking area. Dunno what the m stands for.
You are dead right - I mis-typed. Post corrected.

Eastcoast02 - yes, people DO smoke these days. Think globally, not US specific. In the US? MANY older people do.... the ones with the cash that can actually book those cabins:).

Now - current WL issue: MANY of those folks, either from outside the US, as well as older US Citizens, can be 1) excluded, 2) Killed on site, 3) Policed to death, or 4) Given what the other Hotels on the lake already have. Just me, I would think 4) might be the best option for everyone:). DSA's that actually exist, and allow EVERYONE to live in peace.
