New BLT direct incentives!

You can but legally, it could get messy. I wouldn’t pursue that route just for savings. You may spend more in legal fees if something were to happen down the road.

Thank you.

Is there a mechanism to remove a name from the deed?

Like person A would remove person B from Contract 1 and person B would remove person A from Contract 2?

Or is the process way more complex than I'm making it out to be?

Sorry if my naivete is showing.

I’m not a lawyer, but it would definitely be complicated and probably require legal fees.

You can always change owners of the deeds if all agree at anytime but if you fall below the 150 for membership extras you lose the benefit. So if you buy two 75 point contracts as a current owner with someone else, and then each become sole owner of one, neither is eligible any longer for the perks.

The points will still be good at RIV or future resorts because they are direct points.

It would also mean it would be a new membership to start and then would need to be added back to current one once ownership changed.

So, not sure what benefit it would be to buy that way in the first place if you plan to remove each other later?

I think they’re figuring on buying a total of 300 points, split into two 150-point contracts with both as owners of both contracts, to get the 300 point price. Then later take each other off one deed so they each have one 150-point contract. I think that would work.

That would work then to keep the perks, and get it at $197/point. But, you still have to make sure its done with someone close because all that needs to happen is one decides later they want access to all the points, or doesn't want to pay, and you are stuck with no way to change it up!

And retitling the deed is another added expense. Not sure I would want to go that route.

I personally would not either. We did add adult kids and then bought with adult kids, but we paid for it all, and keep paying for it all and felt comfortable with it all. None of the 3 would ever plan a stay on their own because they do "see" them as my and DH's points...but legally, they certainly could book, or cancel things at any time!!!

I'm just sitting here dreaming of getting 150 at that sweet sweet 300 price point lol!

Thanks for the info and insight! I figured it might be more trouble than it's worth--unless it's a close relative or something. Alas, I think I'm the only Disney fanatic in the immediate and extended family.

Just buy resale. I know that FOMO sucks. But you really aren’t missing much right now. And the savings from resale can get you so much more.

Yeah going the resale route was my original thought then new incentives were released, narrowing the gap a bit, even at 125 or 150pts. If I go direct I could use them right away as I can use it for a trip coming up in December that I'm already booked with my 200 AKV. I was thinking of saving that AKV then for a BIG family trip in 2024. get a nice grand villa somewhere!

Myself most of the time - I would go Direct - I started reconsidering resale once Disney got insane with their prices - but some resale to me is getting close to Disney so I may as well go Direct - use my Disney Visa and reap those rewards - especially if Disney wants to have a sake and is snatching up resale contracts - may as well get my points now

I too believe direct is the way to go, especially now that Disney has changed the game for resale. But not at any cost. If DLT is above $225pp, I’m going to add more BLT resale.

My friend in Hawaii recently bought AKV direct with decent incentives, over the crazy Aulani firesale over the winter. There is not going to be a perfect solution. It’s part of the reason why we all get crazy with addonitis. My #1 philosophy is buy as many points as you can reasonably afford, at the resort you want to stay the most!

Is it bad that I want to stay EVERYWHERE lol!

My goal is, by Year 15 of my contract, I will have stayed for at least 4-nights, at every DVC resort except HHI and VBR. First World Problems lol

How many days a year are you basing the AP savings off of?

I am basing it off of someone who would buy the Incredi pass.

I didn’t use the word discount because technically, they are different passes

So, anyone who can make use an AP to meet their needs, will spend less for it if they are eligible for the DVC one.

It is why we added the adult kids so they can get the AP for their families from now on..when sold…

why not HHI and VBR? It's not a bad goal to have. I certainly want to. But with all the youtube and vlogs out these days, I pretty much know which resorts I want to stay.
