New BLT direct incentives!

We are here now and just happened to stop by the desk near the Contempo cafe this afternoon. I have a meeting set with a guide tomorrow at 11 as the person working "couldn't tell me the discount" but did say the Mouse bought back a lot of points and the discount was great....after reading this I'd say she is correct. We have a Sept UY on our current contract, would we get the 2021 points if we were to purchase the add on?

Yes because you are in your 2021 UY!

From a bull prospective, if they’re moving 300 points they can give a bigger deal. If they bought back at $160/170 and are reselling at $202, they still turn a profit for some fairly easy paperwork. And they want to have options/promotions. Maybe this is the start of some various offers because maybe VGF will come in higher and they are testing out having some different Rates for properties?

Awesome !! Congrats to All New Bay Lake Owners !❤ My Guide is back in the office today - the nerve of him taking two days off - jeez - Haa haa - presenting official numbers to my sloth - I mean DH tonight - I’m not real hopeful since I don’t have the taxes done yet - ugh / maybe I can whip up some prelim numbers on those today too - shhh don’t tell me boss - priorities here - must start crunching numbers - wish me luck - I’ll need it !! He’s famous for wanting to do something AFTER the sale not before - it’s a ploy to do nothing at all - I’m onto to this game - Haa haa

edit - I have June use year so selling point is two years of points !!! - any other pointers - help a friend here ???

I took advantage and bought 250 split into three contracts. Two 100 and one 50. September UY.
Congratulations 🎉🍾🎈

Does anyone know if we can combine this offer with the MIL discount?

If he's a math guy, I'd totally do the math with a standard view room. Best value that will ever be on the monorail. Those rooms aren't impossible, but might require planning and stalking.

You can also sell using the points at the future resorts, like DL tower. Maybe VGC was always impossible, but DLT maybe not because all these plebs will be locked out and it will add a lot more rooms in California.

Does anyone know if we can combine this offer with the MIL discount?

In the past, they've always released a special military version, like for Aulani. Wouldn't surprise me if they still have it, maybe a couple bucks.

Maybe you *should* buy it after the sale is over, if that’s when DH approves it? (Don’t take advice from me haha!) Coincidentally maybe this sale ends Feb 14? 🤓 seriously don’t listen to me.

I’m convincing my own sloth using the arguments of 1/ being able to use these points anywhere including Riviera if we ever decide we want to, 2/ we can have dignity! Currently fourth class resale owners here, 3/ great location for our DD to take her own little ones since these won’t expire until she’s in her 40s, and 4/ we can always rent out points to offset the costs. (Yes I can say this with a straight face.)

Ooh I did the rent thing - covid hit - mass disaster - can’t use that
He’s NOT a math person I am
Preliminary discussions went well - follow up discussion tonight - I’m a tad bit hopeful 👍😳 he didn’t balk at numbers I threw at him and stated he DIDN’T want to do resale as I threw in a resale I was looking at - NOPE he wants Direct points !! SO..... I ended with sale until March 2nd - he said - does he HAVE points in our use year (good sign ) - why yes he does ......stay tuned to sloth DVC purchasing for more updates - it’s a process

I checked with my CM and there is no military discount for BLT, currently only for AUL and RIV. I'm hoping they will have it for DLT though. Fingers crossed!

Our home is BLT (2010 160 pt $120/pt). We added BWV (100 pt $200/pt) in Oct 2021 with the special incentives. Would have added on to BLT but we wanted BWV booking advantage and we probably won't be alive to utilize the full BLT term! Our 160 pts does just fine for us.

Good luck!!! 🤞

Just FYI, I talked to my guide about closing costs for various sized contracts. This is what he quoted me for March use year:

175 point $565 + $250 doc fee = $815
125 points $409+ $250 doc fee = $659
100 points $581+ $250 doc fee = $831
50 points $175+ $250 doc fee = $425

Make sure to take out the title insurance. I didn't even think to do that when I bought direct. But there is no real need for it if buying direct. If you have to use that insurance you have a lot of problems coming down the pipe.

I thought you pay one closing cost but $250 for each separate contract. Is that wrong?
