Hey folks! Thanks for all of the lively debate about the blog! I also heard the folks that had already decided ahead of time that the ride had no value and then I decided not to color my perception either way.
Here was my thought process in reviewing the attraction:
- I analyzed popularity based on how much people were talking about the attraction - pro or con. Human nature actually dictates that there will be people who will try out a ride they feel they heard negative things on, because they want to prove that the naysayer is either right or wrong. Disney built a much larger queue for Luigi's than Mater's and the line patterns this weekend proved that this indeed was the need distribution. More attended Luigi's vs. Mater's.
- Finally, I watched faces each time I rode. I don't think I saw anyone who got off that ride with unhappy body language.
I think most importantly, I wanted to communicate what I saw as it happened, so that people could be aware and prep themselves. Hopefully readers will take more time to look at the walls, flowers and queue and manage their own expectations going in.
