I just got a new blackberry curve and am wanting to make the most of it. Are there any free or inexpensive apps that you can't live without?
I really love my phone!:worship:

Check out www.crackberry.com - there you will be able to find tons of useful information.

On my 8900, I really like viigo, beyond 411, MS Live Search, google maps & weather underground (all free); purchased apps that I use are Berry Alert & Quick Launch. Enjoy your Crackberry!

Yay! :woohoo: I love mine!

Except for one little thing...and it might be a formatting issue easy to fix. :confused3 I can read the DIS just fine and navigate around it on my phone, but when it comes to typing a post....:headache: It will only write on ONE LINE of the text box. It will start to scroll to the right and I can make one loooong line that when posted will show as a paragraph. But, it makes it really hard to make a nice post because I cannot enter to the next line and create my OWN paragraphs. Also, it's hard to review what I wrote as I'm writing it because it gets sluggish as I type more and I can't move around that one loooong line.

Help? :confused3

Side note: I have the Curve 8900 and I had the Pearl 8100 (I think 8100) before this and it did not do that when I was posting. It would return sweep at the end of a line while posting here.

The Opera web browser is 10x better than what comes on the Curve.

You can downlod for free at http://www.opera.com/mini/

yes!!! Definitely get Opera Mini. I hate the browser that came with the Curve. But Opera is great and easy to navigate.

I also really like Viigo and Pandora is good too. Sadly we don't get as many cool apps as the iphone. I just downloaded an app from where.com that has a yelp app.

I also have the free version of Personal Assistant where you can check your bank balances and netflix queue.

I had a love/hate relationship with my Curve the first week or so because I could not figure out how to do simple things like speed dialing, locking the keyboard, etc. I went to Crackberry.com and other Blackberry forums and learned a lot. i also bought BlackBerry for Dummies and it has really come in handy.

Now I love my little pink Curve.

Google Maps and The Weather Channel on are on my home screen. I love being able to access both when we're anywhere - even at home. I've also downloaded the Opera browser. Love to zoom in on webpages and the navigation using the number keys is sweet.

It did the same thing on my Bold as well, FWIW.

If the site has a wap site, it makes it 100% easier to view. For instance, head on over to wap.crackberryaddicted.com and navigate around there. When you post, you can see everything you type. No wap site - and what you're talking about usually happens.

There have been some great apps talked about here so far, if you go to the above site, there is a whole subforum for 3rd part apps, and 70% of them are free.

I love Pandora, MeterBerry, SocialScope, UberTwitter, among many others.....I have a Storm and an 8830 currently, and the Storm is soon to be replaced with a Tour.

Good luck and enjoy your new toy! Hit me up if you have questions. I am a moderator at the above website.
