We have 2 New Beetles at our house. My DS's is platinum gray and mine is mojave beige(gold). DS started a New Beetle club in the Dallas area 2 or 3 year ago. Check out their club website, dfwnbclub.org.

awesome! I have a 2004 Sunflower Yellow 2.0 Liter. Black cloth interior & sunroof. Her name is Penny Lane. She'll be taking her first trip to Disney World in March.

wow you got a satellite blue? that's pretty lucky i think they only made like 4000 of them. i think we had a couple in spartanburg,sc where i live but they told me at the dealership they were really hard to come by. i would love to find a yellow mickey head for my antenna ball.

Don't have one, but reading about your teenagers having one, made me wonder...anyone know their safety record? (The Beetle's, not the teenagers. ) And about how much do they cost new? Used? I never intended to buy my teenager a car...I never thought I'd get used to the idea of her driving either...but I am looking forward to not having to taxi her around, if she had her own car. She's getting her driver's license in February.

There are 1200 Satellite Blues, my dealer had 4-mine was the first sold, the day after they arrived. I even sucked it up and got an automatic-I loved the color THAT much!

New Beetles have an A safety rating. They are definitely a safe car-as several members of that other website can attest.

New, you're looking at between 17-25k, depending on what features you're looking for. I've seen some new '04's still out there for around 15-17. I work with three others who own New Beetles, and one got an '02 for 10k.

So, what has everyone named their NB? Mine is Sputnik, as Sputnik=Satellite.

Yes! I have a 2003 Silver Beetle. It has a sunroof and heated seats, and I have a big, bright yellow sunflower in the little vase!

It's actually my second New Beetle. My first one was a 2000 red Beetle, and I absolutely adored it! Well, last year my husband added some transmission fluid to it, (or something like that), and unfortunately, it was NOT compatible with whatever is in the Beetle. The engine was completely ruined. So, we turned it in, (and lost a ton of money), and that's why I now have a 2003 Silver Beetle. lesson for the rest of you out there- ALWAYS READ YOUR CAR MANUAL THOROUGHLY!!!

Anyway, I love driving around in my Beetle!

I have a Double Yellow 2002 Beetle... it is Diesel and gets GREAT gas mileage! I LOVE IT!!!

Yeah the new beetles are very safe. the round design of them makes them really sturdy in accidents and they have the breakaway engine that goes under the car in case of an accident instead of being pushed into the car. My mother was really worried when I got one even though I'm 24 she still worries like crazy and I had to show her how safe it is. Which is funny because when I was 16 my parents bought me a 1987 Honda civic which was TINY and which I wrecked 11 months after I got it and totalled it, it was just a crumpled piece of metal.

i'll tell ya if we ever get some. they are supposedly really good though and have an upgraded abs system which they call esp. it's supposed to keep you going where you want to go, but i haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

btw, i'll join the club. i have a '04 nb convertible. i bought it in july and i've been trying to come up with a name, but i haven't found one i like yet. i'm thinking about maybe going with astrid (long story).

what color? I love the colors on the convertibles mellow yellow, aquarius blue and what is the beige one? harvest moon i think?
