I wonder if it's also for aesthetics? Approaching the park and seeing a huge clumpy line vs seeing several areas that are more streamlined?
I've wondered that too. Seeing giant lines could start people off with an anxious mood or something, because it looks like the park is mobbed. If you see several lines that all appear shorter instead of giant globs of people, I feel like it sets the tone to think the park is not going to be a sardine tin!
