I just got that email, and was going to post just now, but you beat me to it! :)
This is great news, though we don’t really use that pool much because it’s crammed into such a confined space and doesn’t really feel like you’re in Hawaii. That said, nice to know management is listening.

I agree - the view in front of Ama Ama can not be beat! but I have been super stressed about the sitting situation as it used to be our safe space and I'm so happy with this news because my parents (in their 70s) might be joining us in January and I'm happy they will have a place to be now. Also just have been so disappointed as owners with how much has been taken away so this was absolutely the right move.

We reserved seating in front of Ama Ama for our upcoming stay. Not having to worry about finding a seat with a good view is a huge stress relief with how we will plan our days.

Character breakfast has a 9am opening? Take it! We won’t lose our chairs!

Brunch at Longi’s? Absolutely!
What time? Whenever we want!

Just get up and go for a walk along the lagoons whenever we please? Don’t mind if I do!

I think we are going to reserve for one day as well as we just love that area - but I was an early bird (coming from CA) that didnt mind getting down early to get a seat so I was pretty upset that some of the levels are now reserved.

We come from Oregon, so I would usually get down there at 6:15am.

I’m happy to pay to avoid the Hunger Games…. but that’s just me.

You are not alone on both accounts! Being from So Cal our body clock is 3 hours ahead, and we are early risers anyways. But having casabellas reserved means I don’t have to worry at all when we are at the morning fitness classes.

So happy to hear this. I really like spending some quiet time at the adult pool and have missed that the past several trips to Aulani.

nice. Even with kids it’s nice to take turns escaping the kids and returning refreshed!

I presume beach chairs in that area will also be off limits for kids and families?

This will be nice, especially if it makes the seating less crowded.

Sounds like I’ll be one of the few dissenters here. My daughter (DD7) dislikes crowds and noise in general. The Wailana pool was where my daughter first took off her water wings and swam unassisted. She still prefers this pool as it’s less crowded, and more comfortable for her.

I’m happy for those who wanted the return of an adults only pool, and totally get it. The last time we were there, a local family took turns doing cannonballs into the pool - including their 6’+ dad, and their 3-4 year old - who did it w/o his water wings, and the dad didn’t notice. Ugh. But it will still be a loss for families with little ones who wanted a quieter area.

I hope when my kids are grown and I'm traveling more frequently without them, I don't become the kind of person who prefers the boring pool.

I don't begrudge anyone who does, but it's not for me. Even without kids, the two feature pools plus lazy river are so much more interesting and fun. Plus I like people-watching.

I’m happy to pay to avoid the Hunger Games…. but that’s just me.
I know there are frequent Aulani-goers but I'm at about 25 nights total and I've honestly never seen what all the fuss is about when it comes to the chairs. We travel with a big group, usually 8 or more, and we've always had chairs together at all hours of the day.
