I was wondering what new attractions WDW has since last Feb or so --- We went for MNSSHP in Oct - but we didn't really explore all the parks...

I was curious what is new around the four major parks...

TIA

What's this? I haven't heard about this. Is it already done or is it still in the works? Thanks!

oops....let me clarify. I was wondering about the typhoon lagoon water roller coaster. Thanks!

Well I added that link because OP wanted news on the 4 parks and I had no clue there was a roller coaster being built in TL I will research that also Small world I didn't count since OP probably had no clue it was down and its only get repaired and repainted. I will report back with news on TL. Sure this ain't a rumor? I know everest is a roller coaster opening in AK in 2006!

From what I've heard, it isn't a roller coaster per se but a new style of waterslide that actually allows you to be pushed up a small hill by a strong flow of water. It sounds like a lot of fun and I can't wait to try it out!

Water Coaster Planned For Disney's Typhoon Lagoon

Crush N Gusher Artwork Lake Buena Vista, FL -- Disney announced plans to open Central Florida's first "water coaster" thrill ride at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park in 2005.

Crush 'N' Gusher will utilize "some of the latest water ride innovations in the industry today," said Patrick Brennan of Walt Disney Imagineering and lead creative designer of the new attraction. "When completed, Crush 'N' Gusher at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will be the only water coaster thrill ride of its kind in Central Florida."

While ridign guests will be whisked along a series of flumes and spillways that weave through what appears to be a rusted-out tropical fruit facility. It's another chapter of the Typhoon Lagoon legend.

As guests slip and slide through torrents of gushing water, gravity defying conditions caused by the recent typhoons create crushing bursts that propel guests up and down through cavernous twists and turns, weaving in and out of treacherous wreckage and debris that once transported tropical fruit through the plant's wash facilities.

Walt Disney World guests will have three different fruit spillways to choose from, each ranging between 410 to 420 feet in length with varying degrees of slopes and turns -- Banana Blaster, Coconut Crusher and Pineapple Plunger.

I don't have the web link but if you want to see what a Water Coaster looks like go on the web and search for Schliterbaun in New Braunfels, Texas. They have four seperate water parks there and opened another one in South Padre several years ago. They are family owned and pioneered the field of Water Coasters. They use water from the Comal River that runs through New Braunfels and the placed is packed all spring and summer. They have rooms available for rent that are actually in the parks and you can walk out your door and be in line for a water ride. Their big Water Coaster is called Master Blaster. You start up high and take a pretty big plunge but are immidiately pushed back up the flume by pressurized water. This happens several times during the ride and its just like being on a coaster. I'm not sure but Disney probably coordinated with Schliterbon for the technology because as I remember they hold the patent on the process. They were going to open an indoor park in Galveston inside an abandonned airplane hanger and were working on the project when a fire destroyed the building and now their plans are on hold. The addition of the ride at Disney will be great.

Also new is the talking turtle and bruce the shark at living seas, epcot.
