Iv heard that there building a new coaster or something in IOA by Dueling Dragons, Is this true if so anyone have any info or sites pref with pictures of it. Thanks

There is no coaster being built. There is something going on, allegedly, between the JP pizza predatoria and the Flying Unicorn. But that is just a rumor. Some say its a new JP ride, some say its a new HP ride...no one knows anything for sure.

Well, like yaytez said everything is still a rumour. All the talks about ribbons on trees and stuff.. it just makes everything more confusing. But there is a slight chance we might get more info about this new 'ride' at IOA, when they announce what is going into the BTTF building.

There's nothing going on behind Pizza Predatoria at this time. I was just there last weekend and took a look. When it comes to IOA, the suits like to hear about new designs, talk it over, then "take it off the drawing board."

I would not be surprised if its going to be a while before we hear whats replacing BTTF. Construction walls went up around the front of the building that say to expect a new attraction in 2008.

Allegedly, there will be an announcement on Friday about whats replacing BTTF....I'm saying Simpsons, though its very hard to say.
There have been many pink ribbons on trees from JP to FU, which signifies surverying. I have pics of them if you would like to see......but just because they're surveying, or even marking them for removal, it doesnt mean they will be removing anything.

2006 attendance figures have been posted.

And Screamscape posted a news article about Universal Attendance here.

Attendance dropped, but profits were up because people spent more money. Now that could be good and bad. If people spend more money because they have no choice, they may not come back next year. The suits want to get the UK visitors back. Let's hope the Simpson's ride is a wow and they do something new for IOA.

the 2006 tourism report was the same in our area. fewer people visited, but stayed longer and spent more money. the Tampa area was their primary reason for visiting, with Orlando in second.

Who wrote that? A Tampan? :rotfl:

What I get when reading this, is that DCA is about to pass USF making Disney the top 6 parks. For a few years, IOA had been under USF (6th and 7th place), but they were passed by DCA and SWF. The attendance at IOA is declining, they need to add a new ride, unless they don't care about the attendance numbers. And it needs to be a "wow", not a show, not some kiddie thing. A thrill ride.

Park has been open 8 years,in that time IOA has gotten the Storm Force teacup ride,The Flying Unicorn Jr.coaster and the Seuss trolley,I'm not sure if the Cat in the Hat ride opened with the park or after, but even if it opened after, these are 4 minor attractions that don't bring masses to the park and the Trolley was to open with the park in 1999.If you go to IOA in winter when it's cold,at least I don't ride their 3 water rides, so during this time you're left with a number of rides you can do in a couple of hours. The park has stagnated to the point where they better make a big impact ride or attendance will continue to drop.Whatever they make between JP and Lost continent better be a coaster theme it to Harry Potter or whatever.People might come if they change Lost Continent to Harry Potter land for a few months, but just changing the theme without a new thrill ride won't keep them coming back.I love Lost Continent how it is and don't care for Potter, but if you're going to change it do it and put a new coaster!!
