New AP Rates Are Out

Hi! We are new AP holders and this is our first time applying a discount. We have a reservation at the WL for April 16-20 and when I called about the discount, I was told that the only resorts offering the AP discount are SSR, OKW, CS, and POP. I was just wondering how you got a discount at the Poly?????? I still saved money by dropping the base ticket to purchase the dining plan, but was just curious if I should call back and speak to somebody else about the resort?:confused3

There probably just wasn't availability for your particular dates at the WL. You can call back and keep trying - availability changes all the time.

Oh, so different dates are available at different resorts?? Ok, I understand now! Thanks!:thumbsup2

I agree, plus once the website gets up and running with the new rates, you can log in and play around with different resorts. It's always alittle confusing the first day. I agree, availability does change often.

Good morning!

I am on hold with both of you, good luck :)

On hold, but I have a feeling it's not going to be a discount I'm happy with. I'll probably be keeping my "cheap" rate for the Swan that I was able to book months ago! $91 off a deluxe, while it's better than nothing, doesn't take much of a dent off of Disney's regular season prices!

I held a reservation last night in anticipation that rates would be out today. The CM was doing the sell job of his life trying to convince me that I should add the DDP to my reservation. As I told him, if you guys had left the plan alone, maybe I would consider it. But in it's present form, NO THANK YOU!

Thanks! I am on hold right now.

I made the error of deciding to jump in the shower vs. calling right away, since no one had posted by 6:05 that AP rates are out. I know better. :rotfl:

Good luck, ladies! :wizard: :wizard:

I was calling for ADR's when I saw the note here. Its not even up on Mousesavers yet.

Still on hold. I am going to try for the CR or just stick with my 2 rooms at pop. How much off is 1 room at a value?

When I called last week to make some ADR's the CM was really pushing the DDP as a way to save 40% off dining. I figure it will save me at most about $60 with my picky eater about 20%-not much more than DDE.

The CM I had this morning was so hard sell that she wouldn't let me book without it. I wonder if they are getting a big commission to book DDP????

I was up but waiting to see if someone posted 1st, lesson learned!

Wow, I can't believe the CM made you get it. If you don't want to use it. maybe you can call back. I am thinking about getting now..not sure...yes still on hold!!!

Good luck, everybody! I was just popping in to see what I can expect when August rates come out! :)

Not a good comparison. Rates coming out now are for regular season, you are waiting for value season. I had a value season AP rate for January and for Pop it was $49 Sun-Thur and $69 for Friday and Saturday. I would guess somewhere around there. I was also offered $99 a night at any moderate and the rate was the same throughout the week. So try not to compare your August trip to these rates.

Can anyone tell me what the 888 reservation line number is?

Thanks!

I am with a CM that said you have to get the DDP. :sad2:

Here's my discount report:

We are doing a split stay POP/AKL. I had AAA rate booked at both. I used the Canadian discount a few days ago (the free park hopper and water parks) and applied it to my POP reservation. I'm going to upgrade the MYW tickets to Annual Passes when we're there.

The AAA rate we had for a standard view at AKL for May 8-12 was $247.50 ($278.44 with tax) night. The AP rate we have is $164 ($184.50 with tax). So, if my foggy morning brain is doing the math properly, that's a 40% discount.

The CM was great.... she checked the AP rate for POP, and she agreed that I had the better deal with the free MYW add ons.

And YES, they really are pushing the addition of the DDP to the ressies! I decided not to.... but at least it's available for those that want it!

I'm on with one now, and she hasn't told me that. She mentioned that I could now add the DDP, and when I told her I wasn't interested, she dropped it quickly.
