Besides planning our next trip, I mean :)

We upgraded to AP's on our December trip as we plan to go back for another week in late September (and hopefully a quick trip sometime before then!) I signed up for a Disney account and linked our AP's to it. Will we get emails about special offers and such? We do hope to get tickets for MHP, will we be notified of the dates tickets go on sale?

The fellow at the ticket booth didn't say much although I seem to recall he took our email address.

Thanks!

You won't get any perks from linking your Disney.com account to your AP.
You will be able to keep track of how many days you have entered the Parks!
You will be able to access the onsite hotels AP rate calendar.
I just did a search of my emails and I did not receive any info from Disney about AP dates for the Halloween party.
You are as likely as anyone else [including non-AP] to get a pin code based on a saved onsite hotel itinerary.

You may or may not get emails or written information about AP events and activities (they used to have an AP newsletter, but I don't think any were mailed in 2014 - at least I didn't get any).

In terms of MHP, you're best bet is to keep an eye on the HalloweenTime SuperThread here on the Disboard. That type of information usually gets posted fairly quickly after it's announced.

By linking your AP to your Disney account, you'll be able to access the passholder portions of the Disneyland.com website. So you can see when there are AP discounts on hotels (if any). You will need to have the APs linked if you want to buy MHP tickets online at the AP price (at least you did in 2014, we don't know what 2015 will bring).

There really isn't a lot that you get by linking your AP to your Disney account, but there really isn't any harm either.

Thank you both for the info. Too bad they don't do a newsletter anymore! I will definitely subscribe to the Halloween super thread so I don't miss out on the updates for MHP.

If you have Facebook they have an Annual Passholder page and they post stuff about tickets going on sale, etc.

Thanks for posting this! I just found out via a random thread on FB that AP holders got early access to the Star Wars Half registration. I had no idea! It seems like if you pay to be an AP holder, you should have some information sent TO you. I feel like I'm constantly scouring the internet to find out AP perks. It's very frustrating and a let down, but I'm still loving be an AP holder.

I agree about the Facebook page the op spoke of. I got more info from that than anything. We found out from the fb page at the Halloween party that AP holders get a special treat & when & where to get it. It was a frozen rice crispy treat & a sling back backpack. Also, when it was Splash Mountains birthday I read about a special poster that AP holders could get. In the mail we did receive about 2 times about special AP events & then a renewal discount of $60 but nothing else :(
