New Anniversary Card - Expiration Date

Hi. I have noticed that my expiration date on my New Silver Anniversary DVC cards has an expiration date of December 31, 2021. I own SSR and just went and double checked our paperwork and as I knew, we own until December 31, 2054. Is this an expiration all have on their card or is this a big error I now Have to fix.

Thanks. Why would they do that with the cards? My old purple card doesnt have an expiration date. It did make me nervous.

One line of thought is that it will stop people who have sold the membership but still use the old cards to get DVC discounts at the parks.

DVC/Disney has their reasons for everything, part of some master plan that they don't share.

Maybe the date is the average length or ownership or some other reason.

And JS, it doesn't matter what your membership card says, you have a contract that states exactly when your membership expires. I bought OKW. And I did not choose to extend so my membership ends in 2042. I don't really pay much attention to what my card says. They just put a date about 5 years out because lots of folks have sold and still use their DVC cards to get discounts and perks that they are NOT entitled to any longer. Thus, the new cards that has an expiration date.

Thanks. Maybe. But I could sell tomorrow and use my card for another five years so like you all said, who knows? Maybe not even DVC lol
