New Animation tour

It now has a different film which features Eddie Murphy as Mushu. It also has Mushu's creators and goes a little further in depth than the previous film in the creation process.

Once you enter where the animators used to be, it is a sad sight. It felt like Eisner was around the corner sneering at us. It felt like his presence abounded.

A bright spot is when they let you sit down with an animator for about 10-15 mins. and learn to draw. We learned to draw Pluto and took it a step further in drawing Goofy. Our kids really enjoyed this part and I that it was cool as well. It got our DD really interested in animation for awhile. I think they change up which character they teach you to draw from time to time.

Thanks for posting on the current tour. DH and I have loved this tour since we first took it and were so sad when it was closed. At least we can still sit with an animator--and the drawing sounds fun!

We are so disappointed at the closing of the animation studio at WDW.

I too really miss the old tour but my DD loved the drawing part. I'll have to tell her there are different characters, we learned to draw Pooh

I was wondering what happened to the Animation tour when they closed the animation studio. When we visited several years ago, the animator introduced the group to Stitch and you could tell they were proud of the work they were doing. Perhaps Disney will bring the studio back sometime in the future...

I honestly think who you draw depends on who is antimator at time. I saw mickey, Donald, and Pluto loving friend claims a class drew Pluto ( i think I'm gonna have to let her go again and hope she gets to draw Pluto).

I liked the old tour a lot, and not seeing the studio and the animators stinks, but on the plus side, you get to do some drawing yourself, so that's pretty cool. This will definitely be worth checking out the next time I'm there.
