Okay I just found this site on a Stampin' Up chat room! I need help I have not been to disney since 1989! I will be going in the spring with a 3 year old and my husband who has never been and has no idea why I want to go!
The only reason we are going is becaue this trip was a gift from my MIL.
I want this to be the best trip so I can show my husband Disney is not just some amusement park!
What are the best ideas for my 3 year old, Can I rent a stroller or should I bring mine?
Has anyone stayed in the Sheraton Vistana Resort Time share?
Thanks for any help!

Hi charity and :welcome: to the DIS!

I can't help you with the Sheraton Vistana (I'm an onsite visitor everytime we go), but you can post your question of the Orlando Hotels & Attrractions Board , where you'll probably get more answers than here.

As far as bringing or renting a stroller goes, I would opt to bring my own. I have two reasons for this:
Your child will be more comfortable in a stroller that they are accustommed to
Strollers that you rent in the parks must stay at the park. You'll want something to use when you're not. If you bring your own, you'll have one.

As far as what you can do to make this a special trip...I could write a book about it. But many people already have. I would suggest getting a guidebook like The Unofficial Guide by Bob Sehlinger and Len Testa. And the only thing that I would stress is:
Eat when you're hungry.
Rest when you're tired.
Don't try to do & see it all, because you can't.

Have a great trip!

Welcome to The Dis!!!! We took a trip in November and my DS was 3 (nearly 4) when we went and it was totally amazing. His little eyes lit up for 5 solid days. It was so wonderful we are going back in December this year. Check out the Disney for Families board too. You will get some great advice on special Magic for the kids.

Hi and welcome.

My GF's little sis is proof that your own stroller should be brought. I can't count the times I heard "do we have to walk all that way"

For your husband, I think seeing how excited your youngin will be will be enough for him, however getting him a Mickey T-shirt (a ringer t or one of the ones with a simple Mickey one it) might help to get him in the spirt...see if you cant get a matching shirt for your DS, maybe check out the make your own custom T on disneydirect. Have fun!!

Hi Charity,
Welcome to the boards. I think its great that your MIL did this trip for you. IMO: If the hotel wasnt booked yet, you should really consider staying on Property. Its a great and easy way to get around the parks w/ a little one. You can take breaks at the hotel and go back to the parks when you need to (depending on your pass you can hop around to different parks).
The strollers are great to rent and i dont think u will have a problem renting one at all.
As for your husband thinking its just an amuzment park, i think his feeling will change when he gets there. I know mine did, he wad dead against going for numberous reasons but when he went he fell in love w/ it and cant wait to go back! :)
I hope you have a great time!
