As I write this, I am sitting next to an empty Ben & Jerry's container (although, in my defense--I ONLY ate 1/2 tonight). Anyway-- I really need to lose at least 30 pounds-I'm 5'4" (or is it 5"4'--whichever one means 5 feet!) and weigh 183. I had a baby 18 months ago but I am technically back to my pre-baby weight but I will encourage those who think that is the reason for my size. :teeth:
My obstacles--very little time to excerise-between work, baby, 2 grad classes and a DH who works a lot-I have a hard time fitting in excerise. I am now cooking toddler friendly meals for a picky, picky eater--which means high calorie (think kraft macaroni and cheese!)-To avoid those wonderful comfort foods-I will admit is beyond my control!!!
I found the DIS and it has been a huge help in my WDW obsession--maybe this area can help in my weight obsession. We are leaving in 8 days for our first trip. We are also going in February-I'd like to be close to my goal by the Feb. trip!
Suggestions???

Welcome to the WISH board!

Off-topic - welcome home from a fellow DVC member (BCV).

Your schedule sounds crazy! It's a wonder you've got time to sleep! Whatever you decide to do better be quick and easy to fit into your hectic lifestyle. I'd suggest making a small change, like drinking more water or making sure to eat some protein along with those comforting carb meals, or walking an extra mile each day (pushing a stroller is GREAT exercise!). Pick one thing that doesn't seem too difficult and add it into your life for the next week or two. Then, when that has become a habit, pick another small change to work on.

Baby steps will get you where you want to go. If you try to change too much at once, you may feel overwhelmed and give up. Just start with one small change until it becomes a habit and then add another in a few weeks.

Best wishes!

Thanks for the welcome home! We can't wait until next week. I really have to work on the protein--I don't eat a lot of protein--but I already drink tons of water! I figure-if I can lose 5 lbs a month, I'll be close to my goal by my Feb trip!
I will checking back to get more hints!

Have you decided on an eating and exercise plan?

Yes, start small. Walking is wonderful.

Another suggestion - how about exercise videos or DVDs? That's what I do now. One helpful site: www.videofitness.com

I think my best plan is jsut to cut down portion sizes and try to add more fruits/veggies. Once school starts (I'm a teacher)- lunch becomes a little easier b/c I usually do salads or soups. Less temptation and time to munch!
I've heard good things about Tae Bo--I may try that.
Thanks!
