Hello, i am new here and not real sure how this all works (not sure if that is a good thing to admit or not :) We are looking to vacation 4/28 to 5/5. Please let me know what you have to offer . Thanks Jennifer Mom to 4.:laundy:

First of all, Welcome to the DIS:welcome:

Like the poster before said, we're a discussion board but sometimes it can feel like a travel agency with all GREAT tips you get here.

What kind of vacation are you looking for?

Walt Disney world
or
Disneyland

Each of them have their own sections where you can ask all sorts of questions. The DISers are a great help.

Hope you find what you need:goodvibes

Hi, Thanks for the reply..we are going to Disney World, and now with six of us in the family we need to find the best deals possible. Jennifer Mom 2 4 .

With 6 people, you can look at the All Star Suites or the Ft Wilderness Cabins. Both are onsite Disney and have all the perks of a Disney resort. Most of the resorts only fit 4, some 5 unless you have a baby.

IF you have to go offsite, start reading this board and see if you can find some inexpensive hotels/motels to stay at. I have heard some good things about the resorts near Downtown Disney, and saw the Nikelodeon Suites when we were driving in to WDW last week, they looked cool from the outside and weren't that far away from WDW.

I would look at a guide book, we used the Unofficial Guide to WDW, but others swear by the Passporter.

Also, look into mousesavers dot com. She has some great info as does allears dot net. Of course the official disney site also has info.

We just got back from our first trip to WDW yesterday. There are only 3 of us and we loved the Port Orleans Riverside resort. It is a moderate resort with pool, restaurant, food court and beautiful landscaping.

Keep posting questions, that is how I planned my trip! Most people here are full of great tidbits of info!!

Hi! Welcome! I am new too. The folks here are great at answering questions, but it works best if you ask very specific questions. For instance my first thought was to suggest you stay at a vacation rental home. You can look at vrbo.com, (Vacation rental by owner.) but maybe you do not want to stay off site so that advice would do you no good.

So it works best if you put your specific question (don't know which parks to visit which day, help with parades, where should we stay, confused about tickets....) right in your title/subject. That way someone who could help you will not just zoom by your post by accident.

Hope this helps!!

Yeah, it was tough for us 5 doing it without saving enough ahead of time. But if you do save enough ahead of time you don't have to worry about it. Good planning makes the trip more enjoyable :goodvibes believe me, we learned that. Thank goodness for the DIS.

We just had our first trip to WDW last summer. So if you have any questions regarding a newbie's perspective, let me know!

Are you planning for THIS year? You better get moving! ;) If you are a AAA member they can give you some deals as well. Are you looking to stay on site? If so, do you want the dining plan? You can even call disney and ask what thye have going on. Also register on the Disney site.

I think this whole message board works best if you look around at the different topics/discussions that have already taken place. There is a lot of good info on here- you just have to l;ook for it! :)
