Hi Girls!:wave2: I have been a lurker for a while. I am in the beginning stages of planning an escape wedding..I am planning on October 2013. I was originally planning on 2012 but got the feeling that I will need more time to plan..do think 6 months is enough time to plan or should I wait? Also we only have 10 guests coming and we want SBP..any help would be welcome. I would love a dessert party too. When can I call DFTW? Anyone have suggestions for STD's? Ok, I'll stop for now..but have tons of questions as to what Etsy sellers you are all getting your fabulous things you are posting in your PJs

Hi! I see you are from Newton, I live not too far from there. I think if you buckle down planning a wedding with only 6 months is possible. If you are only having immediate family and they all already know about your DFTW then I say go for it. But if you are having guests that are unaware of your wedding in Disney then I would give them more time to save up and book their trip. I had an Escape Wedding at SBP and planned it all in 9 months...that was plenty of time for me and I did a ton of DIY for our ceremony. Hope that helps..if you have more questions feel free to ask..that's what we are here for :)

Welcome!

Six months is plenty of time to plan a wedding but, as Jessica said, the trick is whether it's enough time for your guests to make their plans. Also, it is getting increasingly difficult to book a dessert party for this coming October due to high demand. If you think you'd like to do it sooner rather than later, I'd call and get the ball rolling (just be aware that the first person you speak to will not have the most accurate and up-to-date info; you'll need to speak to an actual planner for that).

Thanks girls!! Now I just have to go back and talk to my fiance and see what he thinks...

How do I start a PJ??

I'm an escape bride getting married in 2 weeks and at the very end of January DF & I decided to move the wedding up on a whim... Got my planner mid-February so we're had very little time to plan! I do tons of DIY stuff... 6 months is plenty of time for an escape wedding :goodvibes

To start a PJ just go to the Planning Our Happily Ever After subforum and just post a reply like you did here & there is your journal! (it's a lot easier than it sounds, I promise :p)

I agree with the other girls! I had an Escape wedding in October of last year. We decided on Disney in late January, made sure that all our guests (18 of them) were willing and able to do a Disney wedding, and got the ball rolling! I think you have plenty of time for an Escape, and I am one of the most indecisive people on the planet! I also did a lot of DIY projects, and three months before the wedding packed up my entire life and moved 500 miles away. So if I can get it together, anyone can! :lmao:

We were married at SBP, had a dessert party in Morocco, and were able to book a MK/Epcot photo shoot for 2 days after the wedding. Looking forward to your PJ, and if I can help with anything, let me know! I am in serious wedding withdrawal!
