Hey, is your DH related to MY DH??!?!?

Forgive my "newbieness", but, why all the hunk pictures? Are they really your spouses/significant others? Is it OK if Include Pam Anderson pic's?

:jester:

Uh oh....here we go again. :)

Robdam, give up! You're outnumbered! Prepare for the attack of the killer Hugh disboard lover fans! Growl!

Take cover! Incoming! Rattattattattatt. BOOM!

Uh...ok. And now for something completely different....

Again, forgive my "newbieness". I'm not lashing out and do not want to join in on any flame war. I just don't see the relavence of T & A on this board. Who is Hugh? Is he the hunk in the pic's? It seems that this "WL FAQ" is more fluff than "fact".

Wow!!

There really are alot of us gonna be there in Sept. It reminds me what a small world we really live in.

The countdown clock can't move fast enough for me....I can't wait to be at WDW BUT I also really NEED a vacation.LOL

robdam....

THere is no flame war here...just nice, helpful people. I also haven't seen any evidence of T & A as you put it. I think mostly people do it to share a part of their interests and such for us all to get to know each other better. It is all in fun....There is alot more than fluff here if you are so inclined to read through it....if not, I'm sure anyone would help answer any ??? you might post.

Well, your "newbieness" needs no forgiveness. There has been no flame war regarding Hugh as of yet. Just lots of fun between us Dis'rs. Yes Hugh is the name of the guy in Kimmar's signature.

As for the "more fluff than fact" comment, that I think is a little harsh but in some ways I agree with you. See, it took me some time to realize that this place was not just a place to find info. It was a "TRUE" community to the sense that all of us know each other or are getting to know each other better and better daily.

This sense of community is unlike many other places on the Internet. Sure you have to flip through SOME fluff to get what I feel is REALLY USEFULL information, but at the same time, you can have a good time with what I consider are new friends.

Be patient and learn the ways of this thread. You will see that use WL VETS are different in many aspects. Most of all, we welcome EVERYONE to ask questions or add info to this thread.

Of course, this is just how I feel. I can't speak for everyone but I am pretty sure they will agree with my sentiments.

In the mean time, welcome aboard the Wilderness Lodge FAQ Roller coaster! :)

My husband travels twice a week for business. So, because of that he doesn't consider traveling a vacation. He says the best vacation he can have is a week at home to get stuff done around the house. He's really good about getting home projects done quickly and he claims it is relaxing for him. He refuses to go on a cruise because he's afraid he'd be bored. He always has to have something to do.

When we went to WDW 2 years ago he was 41 at the time and it was his first trip. He went mostly for our boys. He was very impressed with the WL and especially loved the music piped into the lobby. He'd like to try the GF, but we travel to WDW with SIL and BIL and WL is about the most they can afford. He's a little upset that I've booked 7 days. He's never been on a vacation that long in his life. He thought a 5 day vacation was too long the first time. After all his rumbling once he gets there he will have fun and even start talking about the next trip. Then as soon as we arrive home he starts saying that he hopes we all enjoyed it because he'll never go again and thus the cycle starts again.

BTW, today is our 14th anniversary and sadly he will be gone tonight. We had a great celebration dinner on Saturday though.

ditto, too.

it's good to feel wanted and needed. we all help out on this thread, and sometimes just knowing someone cares is the best help. :D

My husband also travels a lot for business and likes to be at home for some R&R. Four years ago when I suggested we take our then 4 year old to WDW, he wasn't crazy about it but thought it would be good for our DS. He was hooked and now he is the one who wants to go. We haven't even told our DS we are going in Sept. Happy anniversary.:)

I don't post much but frequent this board alot and love meeting new people, especially DIS'ers. We will be there from the 18th till the 23rd and I'd be up for planning a meet. Obviously with a 8 year old it would be better for us if it were not in the middle of the day.

As far as the more fluff than fact comment. When I came to this thread looking for info, I too had to sift through alot to find some of my answers, but in doing so, I became intrigued with conversations of the "regular" posters and feel that I have come to know you. It's kinda cool to have a place to express excitement of going to WDW. Especially when I'm at work I come here to breakup my day and get my pixie dust fix
:)

This thread has a lot of info, I had been to WL and never heard of the otter pond, but I found out where it is and guess what, I will definately look for it next time. I feel that I know alot about the WL but hearing (reading) about other people's thoughts and memories puts me right back there. So it is almost like I can close my eyes and I am there.

It is funny, talking about DH and vacations, I was the first to take my husband when he was 26, he couldn't see why adults would want to go there. Well as soon as he stepped into the Magic Kingdom, that was it, I lost him. He is a disney fanatic. Just like me.

He makes most of the ressies and does most of the planning. We are on the computer alot reading posts, and we almost have to jump into the chair to prevent the other from doing so first. DS7 told me last night while I was clearing the dinner dishes, "Mom, hope you don't want to get on the computer, Dad just jumped in the seat." It was too funny.

Well sorry to keep going. Oh, that was my fluff.

Loubelou!! ..... Today is my 14th wedding anniversary too.....how cool is that!! I wish you and yours a great one....I'm sorry you will be away from each other today!

:( :(

Well I guess that covers my fluff for the day!
:D

Well a "Pop" of the cork for you too. PD on many more.

Nobody took offense to my fluff statement did they? Starting to feel weird. :) I'm sure you're all just joking. :)

Besides...I guess THIS is MY fluff for the day! :)

I didn't take offense. I was just relaying that having read the title of this particular thread "Wilderness Lodge FAQ" it leads one to think that it is full of general info on WL - 55 pages. But once you get into reading it, there are segments which aren't really WL information but conversations of very excited people about their uncoming vacations. Once I got into reading it, I to felt that it was not just a place to find info but a place to get to know others better.
