I am as big a Disney extremist as the next person. However, I should add some clarification and background to my previous post. Sitting with my DD, one evening, having some drinks by the pool at WL and soaking up its grandeur, we could not help but reminisce about those trips. While WL is not an exact copy of any Lodge we saw or stayed in, we could pick parts that reminded us of many. Happier days before my wife of 35 years lost her fight with Breast Cancer.
DD and I agreed we found a link to our past that can be enjoyed today and the future. That we love this magnificent structure and appreciate the Disney no detail to small approach. FW is a link as well because the National Parks are so large you might spend one night in a grand lodge, the next could be a tent or cabin. All combine to add to the richness of the experience. Experience when a Coyote howled that brought three kids scrambling into out tent. Experience a National Park if you have not done so. I will make sure the Mouse is still here when you get back.
