more questions about WL.

I read that you can rent water mice for $199 for the whole party while staying at the resort and this allows you to use them as much as you want when you are there.

1) are there a lot of water mice at the wilderness lodge, or do they run out of them pretty quick with people renting them?

2) and how far around the lake can you go on them? or is it restricted to an area around the lodge?

3) can you take any of the other boats that are included in that captians package that is a flat fee and take a group of people out for a boat ride?

thanks in advance again...

Come on Kimmar, answer this one for Keith! I've seen your family riding on these Water Mice at WL!;)

I am as big a Disney extremist as the next person. However, I should add some clarification and background to my previous post. Sitting with my DD, one evening, having some drinks by the pool at WL and soaking up its grandeur, we could not help but reminisce about those trips. While WL is not an exact copy of any Lodge we saw or stayed in, we could pick parts that reminded us of many. Happier days before my wife of 35 years lost her fight with Breast Cancer.

DD and I agreed we found a link to our past that can be enjoyed today and the future. That we love this magnificent structure and appreciate the Disney “no detail to small” approach. FW is a link as well because the National Parks are so large you might spend one night in a grand lodge, the next could be a tent or cabin. All combine to add to the richness of the experience. Experience when a Coyote howled that brought three kids scrambling into out tent. Experience a National Park if you have not done so. I will make sure the Mouse is still here when you get back.

...keep yer shorts on!!

The package is this: 4 guests can have unlimited use of the water craft (with the exception of the largest pontoon boat, I believe) for their length of stay. When first signing up, the 4 guests must be present, and they must sign a waiver. The fee is $199 and it's well worth it! You can take the water mice to the other lake (where GF, Poly, and CR are). My DFam never had a prob getting them; they always seemed to be available. There is a pontoon boat included in the price and it holds (I think) up to 13 people, without an extra charge....:D

We've changed the date of our vaca more times than my underwear, but we had a discussion over dessert last night, and we'll be going 8/9 to 8/16 (Ft W)

Well said! Condolences about your wife:( .

Kimmar,
Well looks like we will miss meeting each other again. Hope you have a good trip, let me know how the camping goes. I may have to try that sometime.

Where did you get the clip art of WL. I copied into PowerPoint and enlarged it. It is beautiful.

Kimmar,

The Std Rooms over the Lobby - are those toward the South Wing or North? The reason I ask is when I called to change my preferences I was told these were close to the North wing. The CM said she was referring to a map.

Hello all;

I only have 18 days before I go. I can't wait I have never been there but I know I will enjoy it.

Thanks Guys for all your posts about it.

Kay

Welcome and have the time of your life. Don't forget the Sunscreen.

Does anyone know how tall the walls are on the WL Concierge balconies?? 3ft, 4ft, 5ft, etc.

I am just trying to get a frame of reference. Thanks!!

Ratpack: I envy YOU! Single digits.....UGGG! We just broke the "under two months" stage. We can't wait to be in your single digit stage. :)
