Hi All!

A lady at my childrens pediatrician sent me over here and I am so excited:lovestruc

We just booked our first ever trip to Disney for August, spontaniously my father used one of his timeshare getaways and so this trip was decided in about 20 minutes and I am still in shock BUT SO excited!

me and my mother havent been to disney since I was a baby about 27 years ago and the rest of our group dad, brother, sister in-law, husband, son (7) and twins (3) have never been, so I am getting a bit overwhelmed at everything there is and the cost of everything so hopefully i can find some great tips on here:banana:

We are staying mon-mon at the mariot grande vista resort which is at the enterance of sea world... in the past we had talked about staying on the park but this was a spontanius plan and at the timeshare price were staying in a 3bdrm villa for under $150 for the whole week... so I'll drive to the park;)

But now I'm dumb founded on where to start planning.... and I am an organization freak! so I like to plan things way in advance or else I get anxiety..lol

Whats the must do's for my kids ages?

Now off to start searching around.... yay.... nice to meet you all!!!

First off, congrats on making the trip to the "world"!! You and your family will have such a great time. Does your son like pirates? I'm guess he would love the Pirates League at MK or the Jedi Training Academy at HS. As far as rides go, he'd probably prefer the mountains and maybe Dinosaur at AK (or EE if he's a thrill-seeker, mine were not into thrills when they were young). Your twins will probably be more into meeting the characters so I would definitely stop at the Epcot character spot and then hit the rides that are for the under 40" crowd (like jungle cruise, POTC, and Aladdin).

Take it in steps. Decide how many days of that week you'll dedicate to WDW. Then look at all the parks that are available, using the sections here on DIS to look at the individual parks. Determine what attractions look good or are ones you remember from your last trip and decide which are 'must dos', 'nice to do' and 'doesn't matter if we miss them'. Also decide how you are going to handle meals. Staying off site will let you more easily choose between Disney returants and quick service vs. off site eateries. If you are a planner than you know about research. Do lots of it. One thing to remember if you want to try a Disney resturant or two, you'll need to make reservations as soon as allowable, which is 180 days ahead of time. Good luck and be ready to ask lots of questions and get lots of advice.
