New Alamo Website won't let me change the contract ID

Click edit box in the pick up time and then you should see a "remove" next to the contract box click that to update the number

I also was having trouble with the Alamo site. When you go to the homepage, there is a blue box on the left that says "Book a Car" at the top. After I entered a contract ID, it wouldn't let me remove it either. I ended up having to click the "Reservations" (and then Go under the Book a Car option). On the next page I was able to change/remove the contract ID.

I see "remove" next to the coupon but not the ID.

This new website is AWFUL!!! I may switch over to Budget because of it...

Thanks for the help. I will try a few more times.

I agree! In addition to the ridiculous prices, the website is awful.

It is awful-

And on top of that, even tho I prepaid AND "checked-in" online, I'm told I STILL have to go to the Alamo counter when I get to the airport. The Customer Service rep I spoke to said that this is done because "plans change".

When I then asked what I had accomplished by checking in online--she really didn't know!!!

I would call back & speak to another rep.

That's what the website said too.

Before when I checked in online with Alamo, I was able to print out the entire rental agreement. Then I just bypassed the counter altogether, went straight to the Alamo lot, got whatever car I wanted (from the size I rented) and off we went.

But not now--

Believe it or not, I don't even see Reservations at the top anymore...the only thing up there is Alamo and the languages....very weird. It will clearly allow me to change the coupon but not the Contract ID. Guess I need to focus my attention on the other rental companies because I leave on Friday!

I've tried 3 different computers and both IE and Chrome...same results

wow I thought I was the only one having so much trouble with the new Alamo site...it is just awful !!! :scared1::scared1: And we rent from Alamo every year.....
I could not change the Contract ID code as well...after several failed attempts (trying to find the edit or remove link), I finally went almost to the booking page, (even though I would NEVER book, with the prices they are asking right now)... there, it let me go back and edit.... However, believe it or not...there was a contract code in the space that I wanted to change, that I never even heard of !!!!...A Hawaiian contract code! :scared1: I had my Costco code in that space to change....This new site is just too scarey for me !!! I found a link on the side that said "remove" , but that was just a fluke, Because I tried another code after it finally let me remove the Hawaiian code, and the same thing happened , and AGAIN the second try, there was "NO remove link" even when I went to the booking page....ugh !!
I told DH that we may be forced to rent from another company this year because if this ....its just awful !:sad2:
I won`t take a chance to book, and if the price drops, try to modify or rebook, who knows what might happen then !! OMG !:headache:

It's a bit extreme, but I also found that the contract code (along with all other data) can be cleared if you clear your browsers cache and cookies.

thank you for the advice, that`s what I did at first, Cleared browser, cache and cookies, went back and it still had the same code inbedded, also tryed using IE and Safari, with the same results....this really shouldn`t be, the site is awful ....

I officially give up with this website. Got a rate of 202 plus tax for a week in April. I had to adjust pickup time by 3 hours and the rate went to 472.00 plus tax. That is 90/hour! We have used Alamo for the past 5 years, but....we will book elsewhere.

To get rid of Contract ID in the Alamo Web Page and if you are using Google Chrome, you can use the following steps (a little tricky but it works)

Chrome Main screen, top right, click on Settings (could be a 3 horizontal lines icon/button)

It will open a new tab.

At the bottom of page go to "Show Advanced Settings"

Go to Privacy section

Click on Content Setting button

Click on All Cookies and Site Data

On the text box (right side) type alamo and then click on Remove all

You are done.

I am trying to upload a screenshot combining all steps so it easier to delete the cookies.

I know this is an old thread, but I figured out how to clear the contract ID from Safari without having to reset and clear all other website data.

If you go to Safari Preferences, then the Privacy tab, the first option is "Cookies and other website data". If you click "Details..." you can select the alamo website from the list and click "Remove". Its a lot easier than reseting all of Safari.

Hope this helps someone :)
