I'm most excited about The Electrical Parade coming back. Are they seriously wondering what to do with it??? Maybe they're in limbo because they want to bring it back to Disneyland instead of CA but are worried people will be mad.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEEEEAAASSSE!!!!! Bring it back to Disneyland. I forgive you. It's ok. But, hey, even if it goes back to CA, that's ok. As long as it's somewhere! It's such a special parade and I want my daughter to grow up with it like I did.

I hope they're not in limbo deciding whether they should just.... *gulp*..... tear it apart.

WOW! That is so exciting! I am almost so excited that I would think about being around for the opening of the 'NEW" DCA! The new uniforms sound amazing! I have never seen the Electrical Parade so I would be happy where ever they put it, just to see it! I remember seeing commercials for it when I was a little girl and wishing we could go! :So I would love to see it period! IT IS ALL SO EXCITING!

My thoughts exactly. I would love it if the Electrical Parade came back to Main Street...and I really hope they're not planning on dismantling it. That would be so sad...

Thanks for the post! I hadn't realized that the opening of Carsland may be so late in the summer! It makes me wonder if a lot of people will just wait and make plans for summer 2013 (like we are planning). Hello crowds!

My teens would be so thrilled if they brought back the Electrical Light Parade.
It would be great to see it go down Main St. Ahh...the memories.

Hmmm... It's still far too soon to tell what's going to happen, but one of the main reasons I bought an AP was to make a summer 2012 trip after the new stuff opens. If it opens later in the summer I'll have a relatively short window in which to go before my AP expires (in early September), and it's almost guaranteed to be a madhouse at the time.

Interesting article. My DH and I haven't been to DLR since 2003 before we had kids. We enjoyed DCA a lot back then but realized even then that there wasn't much for kids.

Fast forward 8 years and we are heading to DLR/DCA for first time since 2003 and in 2 weeks cool1 and will be bringing our kids. We look forward to seeing the magic through their eyes.

The AP party on Oct 12th will be during our trip. Do you think it will be really crowded during the day at the resorts because of it?

All I know is I'm gonna be all kinds of po'd if I don't fit into the categories they are looking for in inviting annual passholders to private parties. However, probably not po's enough to skip renewing my passport, just po's enough to write an email complaining.

I agree, way too far out to be speculating but I had the exact opposite reaction to the news of a potential later opening date. We are taking my parents, my sister and her three kids the last week of June 2012. Because of my BIL's work schedule, are dates our fixed. It would be huge relief for me to avoid all the craziness associated with the opening of the DCA remodel. Here's hoping for El Nino! Or is it La Nina that brings lots of rain...I always get that mixed up.

Cars Land is not the issue and does not look like it will be late. Buena Vista Street is the issue.

So color me confused...when I read the article I'm not sure if it is saying they would open Carsland if they aren't ready for the grand reopening or not. I know we aren't planning to go until 2013...but you can never count out a quick Disney fix being necessary!

Well, keep in mind that everything that Al writes is unofficial anyway, none of this has been confirmed by Disney. Al says in his article that Disney wants to have a full grand re-opening when they open the entrance area and Carsland all at once. He suggests though that if the entrance area gets too far behind and Carsland is done on schedule, first, that Disney may need to figure out a way to soft open Carsland before the grand re-opening. Whether he has a source suggesting that this idea is seriously on the table or he's just speculating himself isn't all that clear in the article.

I am so exited for next summer our dates are July 28th - Aug 4 I really hope the grand re-opening is not postponed till that week. I know its going to be crowded but i am hoping all the big cermony stuff happens a month before we get there. We plan on going 4 days but maybe we will need to plan on 5 to see everything!!! I know the AP's are usually blocked during that time of year, but it looks to be very crowed!!!!
