New Al Lutz ( Micegage Update )

Bad news...no reindeer, enforced FP times, massive crowd predictions....ugh.

FastPass enforcement coming? :confused3

Wow, some pretty big changes. That FP rule enforcement is going to be a hard pill to swallow for the DLR faithfulls...

I'm not surprised at all. Every year, TDA and the company in general become more greedy. The Christmas season is no excuse. This doesn't effect me at all, thankfully. I go to Disneyland for Halloween, and I go to Universal for Christmas. I do feel for those who really enjoy Disneyland during Christmas:(

I'm really sad to hear about the Fastpass return enforcement. I always return during the specific time on the pass anyway, but that's not the point at all. They've allowed us to return whenever we want to for years now. Why change that? This sucks. We should go and complain.

We have the habit of collecting FPs in the morning to use after dinner. Our touring style is going to completely change.

We have done this method of touring also. It just gave us the flexibility to tour disney in a way that best suited our family.

Us too ... we'd collect them all day and do what we liked to call a "Fun Run" in the evening ... which would essentially be to go on one FP ride right after another until we used all of them up.

Wow.. With all this bad news and the crowds we may have to try WDW in the off season instead next time. (since there is no longer an "off season" for DL)

I have been a Disney faithful since 1955 and a shareholder forever but I think the suits have now taken this to far. As per usual I will write a letter to management stating my reasons for my dis-pleasure but I think last August will be my for many, many moons. My daughter will start an internship with them next Aug postponed from this last year but that will be the closest I will get.

Too bad,

Jack

Sigh. Don't fix it if it isn't broke. I feel like the FP system works fine. The lines aren't any worse because of people returning late. Am I missing something?

That post just screams "money grab" between charging for shows and increasing prices during high season.

And I *think* I'm ok with an Iron Man ride. Better than a whole Marvel Land inside the park.

Some interesting tidbits in there. I bet FP return enforcement gets the most attention though. Any bets on how long before a separate thread is started?

I feel sorry for the poor CM's who will be on the front lines for that, especially if it happens during the busy holiday season as per A.L.

I'm not surprised at the ticketed Christmas party, I was hoping it would still be a few years out though.

I think a Marvel themed E-ticket ride could be cool. If they do stick it in the innoventions building it makes me think the whole separate park idea may be off the table though. Hmmm

What about the possibility of Disney implementing RFID technology? I'm not sure I'm ready for that.

Agree with above...we will still go because of our very young twin grandsons. But we will be more selective on when we go.:sad1:

A lot of these things are upsetting but the FP thing is the biggest one to me. My mom and I both have bad knees and a lot of times we would tour in kind of a circle and collect fp's as we went. Then later in the day when it got crowded we would work our way back around and use the passes. But if you get them and have say 2 hours before you can use it or sometimes longer then you could be all the way on the other side of the park, at a meal a parade whatever and not be able to use them.

This REALLY bums me out. And it will make it a LOT harder to enjoy touring!

:thumbsup2

I thought this thread would just devolve into that tired discussion of why showing up late for FP is within/against the rules.

This is sad. DL AP is already more expensive than WDW(a lot more), now they want to charge for parties? We went to their version of MNSSHP last night and DL has a lot to learn from WDW, I did not find it worth the extra cost. I'm a CA resident and it is starting to get to where it is cheaper to go to WDW with the lack of DVC availability (we own SSR),gas, and food (noticed turkey legs were 9.95!). The powers that be need to recognize that they are not WDW and that the newness of Carsland will die off.

We were AP holders, but I had to let them expire last month. It was just too expensive with the price increase for my big family. We wanted to go on a trip in January. I priced both WDW and DL and they are almost EXACTLY the same now! Disneyland just sounds like a madhouse lately. October has been crazy...hard to imagine what the holidays will bring, especially with Carsland decorations.

It's very sad. Disneyland is my home park, and we can drive there in 8 hours, but they are making some changes that I really do not care for... including the big jump in Park Hoppers last year.
They are adding to the ticket prices, but taking away the "special" things that mean so much!
We should not have to pay to watch the Christmas Parade, which for one is a big draw for me during the holiday season... it's the only parade I even like, besides the Mainstreet Eletrical Parade... and IF they bring it back, they would probably charge to watch it too.
They want to route non party goer's around Mainstreet? That sucks!
Mainstreet is so Magical at Christmas, and I would be really bummed, if they route me through an alley...
It's very dis-heartening, that my favorite, most Magical place in the world, is making so many changes, that effect it's most loyal park goer's...

I know at wdw they have been doing a Christmas party like the Halloween party where u have to purchase an extra ticket. I haven't heard anything about doing tht at Dland yet. I hope they don't end up doing that. That would be such a bummer

I agree with everyone here. However, they are doing it because they can. There's a recession going on, but Disney wouldn't know.
