I just got the e-mail with the new member perks and here is the info relayed for new ABD/DVC trip. :cool1:

Member Vacations: Adventures by Disney San Francisco and Napa

Explore the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area on a 4-day, 3-night Adventures by Disney vacation—a new trip that's exclusive to Disney Vacation Club Members and their guests. See the Golden Gate Bridge, explore the Redwoods Forest, savor wine in Napa Valley and delight in the enchantment of Northern California!
Full itinerary and booking details will be available starting February, 6, 2014.

I saw this too. Looking forward to the details in February. We did the NYC Dreams trip last summer and loved it.

Me too! We are doing the NYC Dreams trip this May! I am looking forward to it!

Sigh. I guess I understand why they do it, but it seems really unfair that these trips are never made available to non-DVC members. Oh, well...

I think they are crazy not to make them available to non DVC members. They are missing out on capturing a wider audience. I bet there are plenty of folks who might hesitate at a longer more costly trip but would have no problem taking one of these shorter adventures. Then there are the people who might be on the fence about ABD in general and these trips are good introductory trip that may persuade them to do a longer trip down the line. Then there are the ABD fans who would book these trips since they already know they love ABD.

Perhaps they are merely testing the waters for now on these types of trips with a captive audience like the DVC members. We are all but "married" to Disney via contract, "Til 50 years do us part." Then again there is always "divorce" and listing your contract for sale :rolleyes1 This is one instance where I don't mind being a guinea pig if that is indeed the case. I do hope they make it available to everyone though :flower3:

I do agree with you. It does seem like a lost opportunity. I'll keep my fingers & toes crossed...

Sounds like a very fun Adventure. Val & I just spent a week in SF and really enjoyed ourselves. Wish we had time to get to the wine country as well but it just didn't work. I would love an ABD trip to SF & the wine country.

No, release of full info about the new DVC San Francisco/Napa ABD in early Feb.

Figured that but wishful thinking intended that ABD would roll everything out at once. Cannot say I like this dribbling out of trips!

They are trying to extra trips just for DVC members as something extra so that people do not lose interest. I think this is great. I love the shorter ABD's did NYC last year and loved it.

Is the SF/Napa the only new DVC ABD tour scheduled? I won't be able to use points ( I have resales). Is there some other benefit with the DVC tours?

The DVC ABD itineraries are only offered to DVC members. The benefit is that DVC members can sign up for the trips, and the rest of us can't. As far as I know, the SF/Napa one is the only new one they've announced at this time.

I would definitely take the Napa Valley SF adventure. Too bad it is only for DVC. :(
DH gets an employee discount at the Dolphin, so DVC is not something we chose to join. Bummer!

The details on the Napa Trip have been released. It does sound great, but I'm doing the NYC trip this year so can't go. I do wish they had included a Pixar tour with it but can't have everything!

Discover a city as dazzling and unique as the myriad of cultures that give it a flavor all its own. You and your family will explore the stunning landscapes, acclaimed sites and local history of this bustling city known as the City by the Bay in this fun-filled tour of San Francisco.

Wow, the cost is higher than NY Dreams which we were doing this year. A Pixar tour would have cinched this one as a must do for next year though. Oh well.

Agreed..

Do you mind sharing what the pricing is for these 2 trips this year?

Thanks!
